She made out good in the end, divorce, and things are looking up for you too.
Maybe a future between you and her, or not. Either way you have a good friend.
I have been in that situation a couple of times, we were good friends. There was/is some flirtimg, but that's about it.
You were being a good friend to her, and this "homewrecker" label is drunken' babble..

I hate that people can't accept male and female friends just as that! Friends!! I have had an overwelming percentage of male friends my entire life and had to deal with rumors and jealous girlfriends alot. And the majority of the time thats all we were. I have even lived with a couple of guys, and slept in their beds with them and have had not sexual contact with them at all. Now don't get me wrong, I have had, and have plenty of friends with benefits, but that doesn't mean that it is always like that with guys. It takes a lot of self control , and respect to handle yourself the way you did and wait until you were both free to be with each other. The way I see things now is, let people talk, I know what I have done and what I am doing. To the people that it really matters to, if they know me and are my true friends they will ask me and I will tell them and that will be that. To everyone else, fuck em!

I think its possible for men and women to be friends without sex, I have quite a few chick friends who I haven't had sex with, they're very good friends of mine too. But on the flip side, I know I'd suspect something if my girlfriend was hanging out with a guy friend of hers.. But thats because of past relationships.... I can sometimes be untrusting and jealous, which I hate. Sometimes I can shake off the thoughts & just forget about it about other times I have a hard time shaking those thoughts.. It also probably doesn't help that I can over analyze stuff at times too.

 

Do anyone of you have a good reason for why a man should become a drunkard and verbally abuse his wife? Do any of you believe there is justification in a husband abandoning his wife after a miscarriage? Any of you think this guy is right in acting like his wife is his property, that should be miserable for the rest of her life? Please elaborate why you stand by your views. Why do you judge ryan guilty of any wrongs? Are you cynical of his story? Do you think he is the bad one here? How could the husband be justified in any way here?

 

I could partially justify the guy not going to the hospital and finishing up the work day if he was payed hourly and was in need of the money to pay for bills or food.

 

Perhaps. But read the "didn't seem too concerned" part of the story, how he just went about his day. Then he went and got drunk and left his wife alone at the hospital. This isn't noble hubby sacrificing for his lady, this is worthless piece of shit trash guy.

 

Ya, while I was reading it I thought "well maybe they need the money" until I got to the part about him being a drunken irresponsible ass.
