I don't know you, I don't know your background and I don't know what education you have.

The only thing I realize about you is that you remind me quite a bit of my grandmother, god rest her soul.

She didn't believe people could go into outer space or land on the moon and the day those things happened she said it was all a big lie. She had her opinions and right or wrong she stuck to those opinions no matter what. She said socialists, communist, capitalists - all criminals. Yet she reaped the fruits of both socalism and capitalism. If it was something with -ism it had to be bad since Stalin had been an -ist something and old Adolf as well, being a Nationalist of some sort.

I think you should start to consider that there are other options besides those that you are living by today and some of them might even be better than what you are living by at this time.

The current occupant of the white house is a warmongerer and a lier, along with his fellow associates and there is no lie you can tell to make that go away. If it was not for him the US might one of the great nations of this world but it is by his doings that you have been turned into what you are today. A nation in debt so deep that it will probably take a generation or two to dig yourselfs out of the hole.

He is a cheat since he has done his best to prevent the regulation of your banking and financial systems.

The reason I compare your current reign to communism is because communism has very often stood for the same things your current administration does. Lying, cheating and warmongering. And don't even try to convince me the lies were told with our common good in mind.

I'm pretty sure you are not a bad person but ignorance as you are displaying is what gave us communism, the holocaust, people like Stalin, Adolf and Mao and while I'm at it it has given os bibelism which is perhaps the most dangourous of them all.

Ignorance causes fear and fear is the killer of worlds.

IDK, I think this person made some rather valid points. While you make a rather short "oversimplification" that generalizes.

There's nothing subjective about the failure this administration, they are in fact criminals and thugs, lairs and cheats. The ramification of Bush and his party will be felt for tens of years.

 

First and foremost the current financial situation is global, the use of credit worldwide to acheive political goals has been the major contributing factor. The cause of the situation has been brewing for decades, not just a few years. Whether you care to believe it or not, the US is a representative republic it is not a dictatorship. For the most part, nothing that has happened in our country has occured without oversight and concurance among the branchs of government. The times that it has, corrections were swiftly made.

Because we are a representative republic, it is absolutely impossible to get a clear concensous among our citizens, even as bad as the current administration has performed, the election a few weeks ago was not an overwhelming spread in the popular vote. Yet if you read the posts in here and other blogs there should have been a 9 to 1 spread, why wasn't there?

Perhaps it can be explained by recognizing that not all people share the same ideology, we all have different ideas of how our country should be run. The expectations of our government between our citizens are not that far apart. We all want our children safe, educated and allowed to grow into productive citizens. We all want clean water, air and a healthy planet. We all want peace with our neighbors and our fellow earthly inhabitants.

We all want our lives to be free of stress and to have the substance to satisfy basic needs, attainable. Health, food and shelter is very important to all of our well beings.

The differences come in how we attain this, none of the basic ideas are wrong, liberalism can work, just as well as conservatism. It is the bastardization of the two ideologies that cause the problems. In many cases our basic economic system of free enterprise is threatened by over regulations, while our individual success is limited by no regulation.

We are a country born in the ideal of individualism, joined in mutual acceptance of others right to the same. It has worked pretty well, with hiccoughs and fits along the way, but we adapted and tweaked it until it was good again. IMO, we are in the same mode once again, the basic system isn't broken, parts of it need tweaking.

The strength of the US can be measured against the reality that the global economic conditions are really bleaker. Long term projections show us rebounding much sooner than Asia and Europe.

Only history will tell, but I think we are moving quite well along the right path.

I think that we should go about getting Universal Health care in the same way they have it in Canada~ A little bit higher taxes.

If we forced our employers to do it then there would be many more people out of jobs.

No licenses were required to go into any business you liked.

There was no welfare, no social security, no electricity, no telephones, hno telegraphs, no railroads (until 1830).

Universities were only for the elite.

This country became great in the 20th century because of the work ethic of most Americans. It no longer exists except for a few.

Actually the Soviet Union was a much better enemy than the ones around now. No suicide bombings, gentlemanly behavior, swapping spies, no beheadings. we are dealing with barbarians today they want to destroy civilization and return to their tribal ways rooted in the 6th century..
