You made a good point MK, but, I think, the opposite to what you intended! In the 80s porn was full of pubic hair, but it was an OTT reaction to the previous era, where censorship forbade it it.
But then porn film makers and magazine publishers cottoned-on to the fact that if the hair was removed, the punters could see more genital detail - an added selling point.
Then, of course, girls, seeing the hair-free films and photos, realised that, without the hair, the body looked smoother and more attractive and many of them copied the idea. It took a while but gradually the trend caught on so that now these adherents are in the majority, (just look at the increasing number of beauty parlours now doing full Brazilian waxes!).
