I have always had a thing for fast rides. Have owned a bunch of hot rods over the years. Down to one now, a turbo Mustang Cobra. Throw the "x" on the end if the s/n is not valid.

 

I grew up on a farm and then moved to the city. I eventually moved back to the country where I am much happier.

I was reading the book The Tipping Point and in there he describes Ilya Paraniche's observation on one of the laws of thermodynamics. He likened the obsevations to that of a piece of metal that is heated to a certain point and explained that at that certain point, the conditions under which the metal was, determined whether or not the metal would crumble into weaker metal, or tempered into something stronger, harder... More resiliant. He explained that was the tipping point of the metal where it would evolve into or be reduced to mush...

He was drawing parallels to how the human brain can be conditioned. It was aneat idea. I identified with it and liked the theory.

I have seen people crumble under pressure, or evolve - dependant on their skills, surroundings and support systems. I have lost everything and built it back. I liken that experience to the steel entering the forged, and coming out the other side better/stronger as a result of the stresses and pressure placed on it.

Besides, I think it sounds fukin cool.
