  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

The United Kingdom has a long history of radio comedy, the goons; I'm sorry I haven't a clue; round the horne.and many more. I also believe there is a history of radio comedy in America, the Marx Brothers and Jack Benny had radio shows.

I prefer radio comedy as the writing has to be better, the writing has to paint a picture in the listeners mind. Television comedy can use visual gags in order to back up the writing.

What do you prefer? Comedy on radio or television.

Comedy is comedy, depends on the format, really. If the joke requires a visual que to be funny, then a comic strip, or a tv-sketch probably would be the best decision. Otherwise, audio will do fine to produce humor as you can always simply, tell a joke. Remember that far side joke with all the ducks standing around quacking until one of the yells chicken and the a chicken flies over their head. Under the frame the line reads :
Do you ever run out of ideas ? The interviewer asked. Well, the cartoonist replied, sometimes...

I grew up on radio comedy. I had an idea of what Baby Snooks and the mean widdle kid looked like, and it wasn't Fannie Bryce and Red Skelton. TV comedy is fine, but I still love radio comedy. Prairie Home Companion is a contempory example of great audio comedy that doesn't work well on TV.

I think the comedy is priceless around this joint...it's all day and all night..nonstop..wooohooooooot and it comes from so many talented people here who could do standup comedy either on the radio or television or at a nightr club or even on a table.. It's so incredibly entertaining and makes me laugh hard. And typing this was very hard and even that was funny. I guess you had to have been here to watch me stagger type.

The question will be will I remember typing this tonight and I believe I will remember.

    NIghty night

That kitty had some ambien that knocked her out before she could go out partying to watch comedy on stage. But you can rest assured she is having some pretty bizarre dreams behind those closed eyes. Don't let the calm demeanor on her face fool you. She's laughing like crazy on the inside because everything is so damn funny around ihere and she wore herself out laughing too much.

    Neither.

Most comedy has a visual element to it, so television would have the edge over radio, but the BEST comedy is that performed before a live audience.

Television and radio 'laugh-tracks' are the REAL joke----they are annoying.

Some comedians make use of body language, so that gets lost on the radio. But, other than that, radio can be funnier than TV, for some reason. Ghost stories are better on the radio as well.

The Royal Canadian Air Farce, which just finished it's final season after 25 years or so, made a successful transition from radio to TV they were very good in each medium. When they first switched to TV they all stood around with microphones just like they were still on the radio and only they're facial expressions were the difference and then they slowly worked they're way into the other visuals as they got into it. It was very well done, and they were funny until the end. The loss of John Morgan a couple of years ago did slow them up a bit, he was just the best. RIP John.

I'll agree with Umpire re laugh tracks: they are more thanannoyong to me, they are disgusting. Spontaneous laughter of a studio audience is okay; laughter induced by somebody offstage holding up laugh signs not so much. Canned laughter added to the soundtrack is downright disgusting.
