  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

There was a study done not too long ago that said that country music is related to suicide rates, as in you are more likely to commit suicide if you listen to country than any other genre.

You guys haven't heard German "Schlager" music. I don't know why the call it that, maybe because it has some thing to do with "schlagen", punching, someone.

    Actually, no.

Although country music is one of my least favorite genres, I find the electronic/reprocessed crap that Britney Spears, et al are putting out now MUCH MUCH worse.

Even a lot of rap music has good beats and is socially relevant; What appears to be the most popular music currently is pretty awful.

I understand that every generation embraces a style of music that is different than the last-----but difference is not everything. There should be SOMETHING of value in it. The 'pop' of the past few years is pitifully soul-less.

Hey Mac, this is post #11 and you're the only one who thinks country music is the worse.

Hmmm, you might just be wrong among these folks.

My favorite music is the huge area commonly called classical. I also enjoy W.C. Handy and the various music gathered together as blues and jazz. I have actually heard a few rock songs I liked. I guess that makes me a bit of an eclecticist.
What is generally called country music today is a mixture of folk, bluegrass, western and a bit of rock. I went crazy for folk during the folk revival that included Joen Baez and the Kingston trio, but my earliest introduction was through "western" music, Gene Autry, Eddy Arnold, Hank Snow, T."Texas" Tyler and others. I suppose, to the untrained ear, they all sound alike. So do large groups of composers and performers in any category.

I agree that rap, funk, and many other contemporary forms have little to qualify them as music at all.I am also willing to admit that there may be something there I am missing. Please don't dis any musical category immediately. Some of the all time greats in both serious and popular music were dismissed by critics who disliked the new sound.

Country sucks, most 'artists' are losers who cant cut it in the rock world. I prefer elevator music over country.

I'd rather listen to country than rap, but then I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than listen to rap, which is what I would consider the worst music ever.

But each to their own I guess, I like power metal which I apreciate wouldn't be to most people's taste.

Country music is very popular. Its not like it was back in the 60's 70's or 80's. Alot of the new stuff has more of a rock/country mix to it now. Rap music, is it still considered music or just a bunch of mad people saying rhymes to a beat of a drum

To suggest that Rap is not music is extremely unfair. People may not like it (I do not like the majority of it myself), but music does not have to be pleasant-----or even uniformly structured. If it HAD TO BE, than what would you call the atonal efforts of someone like Charles Ives or the torturous excursions of John Cage-----both of whom are considered 'classical composers' of the 20th century...

Lily and Charlie on the MTA, what a great combo. Followed up by Back in the Saddle Again, on a Cattle Call in the Sweet By and By.
