I was recently contacted by a Russian woman online. She tells me she will soon be able to come to my country (USA) to met me. We have chatted and she seems very nice but I know her work visa only allows her to stay here for 3-6 months. I am not very familiar with immigration laws but I fear she may only be seeking away to stay here and wants to use me to do so. Has anyone else been in this type of position? I want to trust her she has been very honest in her reasons for wanting to leave Russia. I am sure some woman honestly meet and fall for people on the net but with a possible motive like hers how can I be sure? Is there any signs I should look for if we do meet? If we did marry what would the pros and cons be of a foreign wife? I would also like to her from women that have any experience in this.

 

Be very, very carefull. While there are some honest women, there are also many dis-honest women. Be wary of her asking for money to help her out, with expenses, etc. I got several similar request when I was on Match and goggled the town in Russia. I don't remember the town exactly, but it started with a T and there were reports of organized scams coming from this area. Nice, good looking woman, looking for an American man.

My opinion, would be spend your time and effort looking closer to home. But if not, I wish you all the luck.

 

If she is after money I cant give her what I dont have. She has not asked for anything yet. I have been contacted by others who were running a scam and it was easy to tell. This one does make me wonder if she might be for real. As for my search I was looking local when the contacted me.

 

Mate, they are the same sort of scams as the Nigerian ones except they promise you pussy not money. But you pay.

 

My college roommate married this Russian chick just so she could get citizen tuition. It was a small stand-in-line wedding at the courthouse. They were just friends, the whole time my college roommate kept seeing his own girlfriend. I don't know what happened with that.

Something like that can be good or bad. I would say, don't rush into a relationship. When her visa runs out in three months, let her go back and stay in her country for a while. You can always visit her in her country and get to know her family. If you stay in touch over a long time, then you could bring her back and remain confident that you really may have a strong relationship. Learn how to speak some russian too.

I have never been a fan of those things, I coworker of mine married a woman from Germany, they had a kid, she left him after the kid was born, he now shells out child support to her that about kills him, and he hardly ever sees his own child.

 

How old is she? For in most cases it's very difficult for a young russian woman to get a visa of ANY kind for the US.

I do believe you, but Russia and Germany are totally different countries and reasons for women to marry....Germany for one is a European country, we have very good circumstances over here....so he might just have had bad luck a with a german bitch (yes, they do exist), but without wanting to say the russian woman the guy is talking about is lying, russian women often live under bad circumstances and are treaten bad by men and have no way getting out of their situation, so German women and Russian women have totally differen reasons in most cases

 

I knew a guy who married a Russian girl under this kind of circumstance. It didn't work out for him. She just wanted to marry him to be able to stay in the US.

I don't think Germany is doing that well. With the high unemployment and tax rate that Germany has had since the reunification of East and West and the high rate of Turkish immigration, Germany isn't as well off as they used to be.

Being myself from a German family, and raised speaking German, I tried to find a German girlfriend when I was single. I had a difficult time meeting women in Germany that didn't already have boyfriends and many of them that had boyfriends did not want to marry. They aren't desperate, like the Russian women are, but they are not into marriage either. Except, I did notice a fair number of German women like to marry American GIs, and visa versa. I don't know how successful those marriages are, but the German culture is different from American culture. I know a guy that married a German woman when he was a GI. He went through an awful divorce. She really was a bitch. But, there are some wonderful women in Germany as well, but they get married pretty early in life.

No matter what country you consider, there are both good and bad people in them. One has to be careful when choosing a wife. Reaching out for a wife from a foreign country has it's challenges. Why not just find an American lady? After all, they don't have the immigration problems and cultural differences.

 

I am not looking abroad but I do not want to reject her just because she is. And part of the attraction is the culture difference. Most American woman only want to know what you can do for them. They want to marry a wallet not a man or they want a Prince Charming. I am not saying all woman are this way but many are and the few good ones are not single.

 

This is like the only reason a woman would marry a dude she only got to know through correspondence.

Nevermind. She finialy got around to asking for airfare. LOL. She just took a very long time to get to it. Online dating is such a waste of time. Never put your profile online its not worth it.

Out of boredom and a desire for revenge I have decided to string her along saying I would have to sell some things to get the money. I think a week sounds fair for my time she wasted. How much does it cost to send $0.25 to Russia. LOL
