Having said that I am hard to entertain, but would always view a performance of his as worthwhile.

Well. I only really know anything about JT from those you mention, but if they're similar, then, god how I wish they'd never been influenced by Michael to make the music they do.

If you listen to radio one / pop music, yes, that's true, lol.....
But I can assure you there is plenty of music being made that is actually... well... good, and also made with the true spirit of music, not just whatever the record company decides is best marketing policy.

@ MJ's death: my sympathies to all those who cared about him.
@ MJ being a kiddy fiddler: it's unresolved. There's no way to know if he did or not. Courts say innocent if there's not enough proof to convict, doesn't mean anyone proved innocence... innocent until proven guilty. So my point is: it's a matter of personal opinion, and no one should assume they're right.

Personally I could care less about music sorry that is my own opinion. I do not listen to Pop music or Michael's music. I dont give a shit that he is dead he wasn't my friend nor someone I know. Will I miss him no so it doesnt affect me. I also do believe that he had a fucked up childhood but guess what it is not my fault it was his parents and people watching over him that should have stepped in when they saw something was wrong with him or with his father or whatever. I do not believe children should be in the music or acting business it hurts them way to much. I also do believe he did hurt this kids because guess what kids do not make up that kind of shit, he is famous and famous people get away with everything!

also where does it show that he had a brain of a 10 year old? well maybe then he shouldnt have been alone with kids if his own brain wasnt able to go past age 10 have kids or marry?

Hey Anonymous, yes i was referring primarily to popular music, your Top 40/club/Hip-Hop stuff. It's mostly manufactured stuff by record companies and producers...Off the top of my head it kinda started with the New Kids On The Block, In Sync types of bands. I agree, there are a lot of good bands out there nowadays. Sad thing is that they don't make the kind of money these manufactured groups make. It's all marketing and little talent now for these types of bands. People just want the next big club hit.

Mind you I still go to clubs and enjoy this music for what it is like I said before. My point is that most of these acts will be gone and forgotten in a few years. The days of long lived acts like Aerosmith, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Rush, etc are gone. Bands that actually play beyond three cord progressions. I think the last generation of bands with substance and longevity were bands from the 80s like your Def Leppards, Bon Jovis, etc. Some of those are better than others but you get my point I hope. There aren't really any more groups/singers that people can grow up with and enjoy for decades anymore.

Hey BKG, that's too bad that you're not into music. You're missing out on one of man's greatest creations. Putting aside all the stuff they say he did or didn't do in his personal life, look beyond that on a higher level. Look at what he did as an artist and how he affected music and the world as a whole. For example, it was to a great degree because of him that music videos, are what they are today.
You obviously have very little understanding of how he affected music on a global level (apparently not that you care!). I'm not a big fan of his, I don't have any of his albums or ever saw him live, etc. Like I said though, I grew up with his music on the radio, his videos on MTV and Much Music, etc and can appreciate what he did and the talent that he had. There's a reason he was labelled the "King of Pop".

 

Damn straight. Most of the music I have copies of, on the rare occasion I listen to ANYTHING, is Michael Jackson.

People only remember what they want to remember. It's a rare individual who remembers all of it.

The whole "sex with little boys" thing and the supposed musical genius aside, the man was a 100% Grade A Freak, yes, it was probably due to his fucked up childhood, but that still doesn't make him any less of one.
