Notice the big problem, authors will not post story as true if they know that it would get them banned......

I do understand the fears of child abuse and the need to STOP it. However, banning the storys simpy wont work. The people who commit these offences are ill with a sickness we will never understand nor wish to. In the same way you have said BAN the storys, then shoud we not also ban alcohol to help the alcoholics.....?

It might be an idea to read all of the posts in a thread if you want to apportion blame at 'whinges' and 'attacks on her character.' I insulted no-one until she posted this:

Firstly, I have NEVER in any post/thread advocated the banning of speech (I infer that you mean free speech); I have indicated that IT'S MY OPINION that stories of underage children being abused by adults shouldn't be given an airing on this or any other site. Being as i'm on this site, and having the discussion here, i'm talking about XNXX banning these stories.
Now, XNXX WILL NOT ban these stories, and i accept that, as i DO belive in freedom of speech; I just think that perhaps boundaries could be introduced.

Secondly, yes there aren't tons of people behind the banning of free speech, because I DIDN'T advocate it in the first place. What there is, though, is a groundswell of like-minded people who feel that in this instance, where degenerate monsters are concerned, perhaps something should be done.

Has anyone realized that Pedo's don't actually view what there doing as wrong most of the time. They don't see the problem with it. We hear all the time about the adverse affect of fiction on humans. In this thread alone, there has been mention of two cases where people (children?) acted out the violent fantasy they've seen in films or on the television.

I have yet to hear of people being guided the other way, toward religion. After the classic, The Sound Of Music was there an increase in the number of females wanting to join a convent? I think not. Therefore, it would be safe to say that fiction, both film and literature cannot be held accountable for the actions of mankind.

 

FYI: If you live in Canada, underage sex stories are considered, by law, to be child porn. You can be charged under the child porn law if you are caught with such stories in your possession.

How does Canadian law define "underage sex stories?" Is it illegal to own a copy of Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov? What would the punishment be? In the United States if one has photos of child pornography one can be sent to a maximum security prison.

My question is academic. I do not own a copy of Lolita. I have not read it. I actually think the literary quality of that novel makes it more dangerous than a poorly written paperback novel one can buy in an X rated book store.
