I was fired by a tranny hater who didn't even know me in 2007, because two other trannyhaters complained that I was transgendered and wearing a skirt and wig (the wigs I wore for 7 years before.) There is now an EEOC suit for this and it was against city policy as they are allegedly an EEO. I expected to get my suit settled in two years and borrowed money to keep up my payments and for expenses until the banks started lowering everyone's credit limits and raising interest. To that point I had perfect credit for 12 years.
I just got a temporary census job in March for 5 weeks, and then again this month, but it looks like the money has been taken away from the census bureau and they keep saying they don't have any work right now to my crew leader. In 3 weeks I got 37.5 hours of training and 12 hours of work. Lately the EEOC has told me that it will be 2 to 4 years before my suit gets to court.

But I got hired as a change girl the same day I got the call from the census bureau. However it is only minimum wage, and its graveyard shift so not much business and therefore no tips either.

I am still applying for jobs such as project manager, electrical engineer, construction administrator, all of which I have 34 years experience of being in charge. But I'm 74 and can't hide that. The change girl company doesn't care about age and I have met a woman of 82 working for them. And they have a lot of better paying jobs I can qualify for so after a while I will apply for better jobs with them.

I love this job, I can dance, listen to music or read during my shift as I want to. But I really would rather be doing something productive like designing or building something, or administering the project.

 

Midway home entertainment went out of business. That's where I used to work. Now I don't. Fucking asshole Sumner Redstone sold the damn company for pennies on the dollar.
It just goes to show that employment depends entirely on how much the rich people are willing to spend on the proletariat. I think people need to understand that Reagonomics can not work. The rich hoard the money, it doesn't trickle down to the bottom. In example of Midway, Sumner sold it and I got fired... so nothing trickled down.
Really, you people need to understand that you need workers. Without workers you have a manager sitting alone in his office with noone to command. Well GOOD thing you got those bonuses.

Fucking stupid ass shit society. It's expected for you to work to enjoy the benefits of society, but work isn't provided. I'm not lazy, there's just noone hiring, what am I supposed to do if even McDonald's won't fucking hire me because I have a goddamn bachelor's.

Was laid of in January. Motivated me to go back to school. Looking back, best thing that happened to me, because I'd still be there.

 

working is overrated...unless you truly love what you do then it's really not work now is it?

 

I was layed off as a brick layer. Got a job at a supermarket while I retrain at college. Money is tight but dhould be fully retrained in july.
