Ok here is the deal...I just met this girl who just turned 18 and still in high school. I am 22 an out of college. Would this be wierd if we started dating?

Are you kidding? That's perfectly acceptable. But you better be sure she's actually 18.

18-22 is a perfectly acceptable age difference.

Even 18-100 would be acceptable (if you could still get it up!)

Anything under 18 and a day is unacceptable.

I have never actually worried about age difference. When i was in my 20's i had many women who were alot older...51 and hot as hell was the oldest i think and now that im 50 i have had women as young as 18...so no big deal...and look ma no VIAGRA. LOL

22 to 18? That's like.. not even an age difference. I was with someone twice my age, and I was 19. So no, it doesn't matter, if you make a connection with the person. Normally, older guys trying to hit on me creeps me out. Older being 40+.

Age isn't anything but a number, but the law says 18 is legal. Just be sure she is 18, and go with the flow.

hmmmmm......let's see......half your age plus seven....so just say a hypothetical guy is 45, that would be 22 and a half, plus 7, or 29 and a half....that sounds good. I guess I am screwed, though (or actually NOT screwed) if I meet a girl who is 28......

 

Obviously the '18' is a key number, but I THINK his concern is that she is in HS and he is out of college-----in other words, a college graduate dating a girl in HS.

Heck----I know several men who were college graduates who dated girls in HS......they were their TEACHERS for Christsake!

 

Nothing is wrong with the age difference it is perfectly normal as many above have said, the thing that may cause worry is that "she said" she was 18, better double check before you dive into that mess. Last thing you want is to inadvertantly become a sex offender.

Now after you get pass the age thing, the only thing of concern I could see, what he could possibly be worried about is maturity. While the age difference is fine, his being a college grad and her still being in high school could cause some problems in terms of level of maturity each person has. Though women tend to have a higher maturity level than men, her mentality is still that of a highschool girl.

The choice on whether or not you should date her is totally up to you. I don't know anything about her so I could not give you a definitive answer to your question. Hope this helps some.

 

An age difference by itself shouldn't be an issue (assuming both are legal, of course). What's important is the connection between the two people. Where problems can crop up is if the age difference winds up meaning that the connection frays because you find that don't have enough in common to keep the bond strong over a long period of time. In that way, 18 can be a long way from 22, as I can attest, having been in a relationship with an 18-year-old when I was 22. Now, if all you're worried about is the sex...

Can never be too careful, just because they have tits and a vagina does not make them 18.

 

Yes This is more of what I was asking about....I know the age difference is not a problem... Shit my parents are 6 years apart....

 

I know this is a legal thing in the US but I just don't get it. In the UK you are legal at 16 and I think that's just fine. When I was in my teens I 'dated', and I use that in the loosest terms, guys in their 20's. It didn't scar me, I just liked them older. They had cars, money and were poles apart from guys my own age.

To ask whether a 22 year old dating an 18 year old is okay is just stupid...

 

The age of consent is also 16 in the Netherlands although apparently there is discussion of raising it to 18. It is illegal to have sex with a prostitute who is under the age of 18.

Therefore, this entry in Wickepedia regarding the age of consent in the Netherlands is misleading and incorrect. It is cited as 12 which is rediculous the age of consent is 16.

I'm sorry all the other references I could find were in Dutch. I stress again this is the age of consent. Consent is a pre-requisite for all legal sexual activity.
