As a basic value assumption, I think the Jews had at least as much right to immigrate to the land of their ancestors as my ancestors had to immigrate to the United States. The Jews came in peace. They were attacked by the Arabs. They fought back, and won. No one gave them anything.

Actually, they had a better right because their ancestors had lived there before. Those who defend the rights of immigrants in Europe and the United States would seem obliged to defend the rights of the Jews to immigrate to the Holy Lands in the late nineteenth century and the twentieth century. I would like to add that the Jews did not take land from the Palestinians. They bought it from those who owned it. The British settled not only the 13 colonies, but also Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. No one contests that settlement.

I would like to reiterate that the Jews came to the Holy Lands as peaceful immigrants. So did my ancestors.

 

First part is irrelevant. Israel - Arab conflict is much more about religious, political, and land disputes than some little thing about race. Both groups are xenophobic and misogynistic...

Second part is also irrelevant; it is obvious that immigration has ALREADY happened. Once the immigration has HAPPENED, the immigrants have the practical sense to defend their establishments. Therefore the Israelis have the right to defend themselves, because they are being forcibly removed from their establishments. In fact this point serves as a primary Arab argument to not live peacefully with the Israelis and fight them needlessly. Talking about justice here is once again, pointless.

Even if the Israelis were wrongly there you expect the Jews to LEAVE??? If the Arabs force them, they will get completely trashed by the IDF. If the West force them, whichever nation does the work is effectively committing another Holocaust because they will have to fight the IDF and many many Israeli citizens.

The debate should be about what we should do in real life to SOLVE the problem and END the war.

In fact, I dont even think half the people even realize that there is actual war and suffering going on there; and if they do, then it is plain stupid to debate about ideals rather than practical actions to be taken to END the war and suffering.
