my daughter introduced me to shaving

 

My step mom taught me. When I started shaving at 12, it was just my legs and pits. When I turned 15 or 16, I had already been grooming it some but mom told me that some clothes feel better without a bush at all and she was right. I prefer being hairless.

 

Some Mom's do, others don't. Guess it would depend on how close the relationship was and how comfortable they are discussing such things with each other. I know my mother never did.

 

My mother never talked to me about this stuff, still never received a sex talk from them. I think because its a personal preference that it wouldn't be too high on the list of importance in this department.

 

Thanks for calling my ugly! To me and all of my friends and lovers there is nothing worse than a big old mat of hair to get through to make things happen, just gross!!!!!!

 

lol giggle! my mom didnt like instruct me she pretty much said shell never be grey down there lol so i assumed she shaved so i tried and ive been shaved ever since lol

 

My mom was a better too much than too little type so shaving that area was taught in significant detail. I do not see what is the big deal. We teach our children how to shave every other body part. I am glad she did and I did not have to rely on other's my age or internet forums for advice.

 

My Mom never said anything to me about it, just the normal shaving of legs. I started shaving though when my brother and his friend showed me a clipping out of a PlayBoy book, they showed me these two girls that were partially, where-as I had a bush, there's looked so cute! So I decided to shave my pubes.

 

I don't know, my daughter isn't old enough yet. But I imagine we'll have something like that talk when she buys her first really skimpy bikini.

Mine don't, you can tell easily in the summer time, the oldest has a little hair visible around her swim-suit line. The younger isn't at that stage yet.

As an aside; I remember when Mommy taught our oldest how to shave her armpits. She was so proud of herself! It was a big milestone.

 

My mother freaked when I brought the subject up and muttered that trimming would be a good idea for "that time of the month" and quickly changed the subject.

My sister in-law has had basically the same issue with my mother in-law and asks me questions when it comes to that kind of stuff. It was embarassing at first but I figured if her mom isn't telling her to shave her armpits, legs, and bikini line then someone has too.

 

Depends how they respond to you feel it out and move around the question of personal grooming (legs ...etc) and see if you can get to the point

 

My mom never knew I shaved...my dad...well...only after he and I...well....you know....lol

My dear friend who I've never "been" with has two teenage sons. The oldest recently asked her if she was trimmed it shaved down there. She declined to answer but found out he wanted a wax so she referred him to a spa she went to.

I was shocked. Her...not so much.

 

my mom and dad were really old school they didn't even talk about sex in the open let alone telling my sister to trim or shave down there. I think and I hope that my older sister showed my younger sister about shaving and all that other stuff.

 

Our darghters grew up going to family oriented nudist resorts. They saw both natural and shaved of both sexes, we always discussed openly and without embrassment anything they wanted to know.

 

As a father I'm openly candid about any and all subjects, the problem is that the child has to be comfortable to open certain subjects and only then can we proceed. I found out about my granddaughter's shaving for comfort when we went to the doctor for a "rash" that kept occurring in her thigh/crotch area. Come to find out she was using one razor there for over a year "OUCH", this is where a parent shines to find an "in" for further discussion. While uncomfortable a bit, I bought her the razors and shaving cream with a general knowledge explanation of do's and don'ts in such a sensitive area. Bonding isn't always easy, but it is our job!
