I have been thinking about podcasting myself reading my erotic stories. But I was wondering if there was a market for it. So, what do you guys think? Would you be willing to pay a nominal membership (say, $10/month) to listen to a southern gal purr on about how hot she's getting?

There seems to be a market for pretty much anything sexual. Now whether you can capitalize on it is another question. I think you are polling the wrong group. People who come to a story site or forum are most likely readers and wouldn't be interested. You need to find people who listen to books on DVD or who download to an MP3 etc. Of course what you read has to be good. I haven't read your stories so I have no comment. I would also think that you will need a new story everyday. New material is the number one thing that drives traffic to an internet site. People want to get hooked and get their fix quickly by clicking on a bookmark rather than searching all over. You get them hooked on your site by always having a fresh fix waiting.

Hmmm, I think most answers here are pretty good ones. I was just wondering if there might be a market for it and wanting other people's opinions. Maybe a book on CD would work, but I'm just thinking it would not go over as well as a written book considering the genre. But thanks for everyone's input.

 

they are read for free on the likes of Lustylibrary - why pay when you can get a hugely erotic sounding woman to read them out for free?

If there was a market, it would probably exist. It doesn't mean its not worth trying, but personally - southern accents make my teeth grind.

 

DC you are so fucking hilarious! And thank you KN, a southern accent drives me nuts too and I LIVE in the freakin south. Don't know why men go all mushy knees over the accent but they have a tendency to do just that. While there probably is a market out there for something like an audio book I think I'll just stick to writing.
