Apperantly porn actor Steve Driver lost his grip with reality and killed someone with a katana and slashed a couple other people befor being tracked to a hill top by police.He was shot with a "non leathal" round and then jumped to his death.

Actualy,there are a number of manufacturers that make or import very good quality katanas at prices that would make you think your buying junk.Some of them are even folded steel and diferentialy hardened blades made from good carbon steel and honed to a razors edge at the factory.China is a huge scource of these blades and as much as the brain screams "ITS TOO CHEAP TO BE GOOD!" they are very well made at under $300. These blades arent the works of art that an authentic Japanese katana is but they are good enough to take into your back yard for tameshagiri or hacking down heavy brush.They are tough and not likely to break unlike the stainless steel wall hangers you see in smoke shops and souvenier stors.Full tang forged blades with authentic furnature.I have even seen cutting tests in which a guy took a $200 katana to a 55 gallon steel drum and the blade held up just fine.The barrel didnt though.

Porn actor on the run after 'hacking fellow actor to death with a samurai sword'

A porn actor is on the run after a fellow actor was killed and two others were injured in a horrifiying samurai sword attack.

The attack took place on Tuesday night at the San Fernando Valley offices of Ultima, an adult film company.

Police in Los Angeles said they were searching for actor Steven Hill - who appears on screen as Steve Driver.

Victim: Herbert Wong (aka Tom Dong) died from a torso wound


He is accused of hacking fellow actor Herbert Wong, known in the industry as Tom Dong, to death.

Wong, 30, died from a stab wound to his torso.


Mr Hill, 30, is said to have been living in the studio where he worked as an actor and web designer before he was fired and told to move out.

Two other colleagues were attacked when they heard Mr Dong's screams and rushed to his aid. The two survivors are expected to make a full recovery.

Mr Hill then fled the scene with the weapon, it is alleged.

Police found a dried pool of blood near one of the building's doors as well as several drops of blood leading toward a row of parking spaces.

The weapon used in the attack was said to be a prop being used in one of the company's current productions.

Ultima is reported to be a studio specialising in fetish films, particularly those involving the cast hurting one another.

'Hill wasn't performing up to standards and a few weeks ago he was told he would have to leave,' LAPD detective Joel Price said.

Aftermath: Police found blood at the entry to the building where the attack occurred

'They weren't happy with his product and he had been given a date of June 2 to leave... He knew today was the day he had to be gone.

'There was no indication that things were going to get violent, there was nothing that provoked this attack, but at some point Steven chose to arm himself with what can be best described as a sword. He then used that sword against those three victims.'


Police clarified that the man they were seeking was not the Caucasian adult actor Steve Hill, but his African American colleague of the same name.


Mr Hill is currently on probation for a 2008 weapon violation in nearby Burbank.
The LA Times quoted sources who claimed that Hill had a history of violence - including a 1999 incident in which he threatened to shoot dead one of his college instructors for not giving him an A-grade.

Got to give the dude credit for not tying up the legal system with appeals and maneuvering, everything in a nice package all done up neat, with a bow even.

Katana is a very important facet of many types of Karate. When my son got his black belt (at age 10) in Shotokan Karate, we got him one, had it engraved. He cherishes it, tho he quit Karate.

 

I have a broadsword made of the same stuff as the space shuttle (remember that thing? :lol. I could cut down a tree with this thing.

 

If you haven't read the recent news reports, Mr Hill apparently climbed to the top of a large building and took a leap of faith. Too bad he left his faith behind. This just reduces the tax burden on the citizens for arresting this miscreant, putting him on trial, and boarding him for the rest of his life - because you know California was not going to execute him.
