I tend to think it is a form of taking innocence, almost like taking something pure and being the first one to have it. Victims it seems live with a lifetime of pain because of the abusers seemingly innocent pleasures. The problem will never go away, will it? Hate to burst your bubble, but it's got nothing to do with the "corrupting of innocent children". It's the same thing that causes homosexuality, bisexuality, bestiality fetish, etc. Some people find the features of children arousing, some don't. Live and let live.

In my opinion it is a power thing, something taboo, something forbidden that some can not come to terms with obviously. We all favor youth and beauty but at what or whose expense? I will not let child molesters live near me or will I tolerate hearing about them because if there is something I can do to prevent it I will. + When you take the innocence away from a child sexually and might I add maybe violently I doubt you will ever have peace in your own life. +

I am taking a serious view of the question, although it was originally posted as a joke.

I think pedophilia results from people that find children to be easier targets for their sexual exploits. They are weaker, more trusting, and unaware of what is happening to them when a pedophile is stalking them.

 

Both are reasons. Some are naturally drawn to young children sexually and some screwed up and frustrated adults find children to be easier targets to manipulate and force themselves on then dealing with adults.

 

Exactly, but the latter aren't technically pedophiles. In our legal system the term is used very loosely. Many people who molest children aren't actually pedophiles.

Stop trying to sound smart. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. You're basically saying that people are pedophiles because society lets them be? They would have been pedophiles anyways, regardless on the way society views them. Gays will be gays, pedos will be pedos. It's the same thing.
