Ok, at little story first:

Im 23, I fell from a window and completely broke my back, leaving me paraplegic. This means Im in a wheelchair.

Now from what my friends say, from the waist up im fairly "fit" and not that bad looking, (these comment tend to be amazement at how ive changed from a skinny runt). My characters not that bad - bit mad, bit of a joker, mildly good sense of humour, esy going etc. and thanks to modern medicine i can still ahve something that resembles sex.

Now the question(s). Does the WC cause problems/ put off you girls? Guys what would you do in this situation? Gay guys feel free to say if it would put you off.

 

Wouldn't put off me or my wife - we'd find a way to all have fun.

It's actually something we've not done. Just never found ourselves in that situation, I guess.

Yes, it will put some off, but the ones that are put off you don't want anyway. They are the shallow ones.

The ones you want are the ones that will see beyond the wheelchair and your supposed limitations.

i have dated a girl in a wheelchair before and it wasn't out of pity she was a wonderful lady and everything was great but she ended it as she thought she found someone to care better for her than i did but low and behold he took her for nearly everything and allthough i still see her once in a while she won't talk to me for some reason

It wouldn't bother me at all. As long as you are happy with who you are. That's the only thing that should matter.

 

Two things: for most people, guys and girls in wheelchairs are a bit of a curiosity. A disabled person remembers people of their own vulnerability, which makes them uncomfortable.

Of course, it's different when people know someone personally. But then there are all the practical issues: non-accessible locations, getting from A to B, vaing to explain things all the time. A partner shares many of the nuisances a disabled person faces.

As for being put off by a handsome fit, muscled young guy in a wheelchair? Not at all

I'd say that anyone thats not a shallow idiot wouldn't care about the wheelchair.

I've personally never been with someone in a wheelchair but I don't see how it would put a damper on anything....so you prolly can't have wild monkey sex....doesn't mean anything. Some of us gals enjoy doing all the work

And unless you are a real downer about being in a wheelchair, I don't see why you're not having any luck...try somewhere there aren't drunk gals....I promise there are quite a few of us out and about that aren't shallow!

 

If you have not realized by lack of the replies by now, I will say what most are waking away from. Yes it is a problem. First of it is kind of disturbing and disgusting. You do not know how able they might be to take care of their parts (please don't start rambling how clean you are, is irrelevant I am saying what goes on in one's mind). Second the practical side of it makes it hard. Doggy style? Standing? What would you do? Have sex missionary style all the time? Would she have to lift you off the bed? Roll you around? There are so many questions, that most people do not want to find the answer to, they would rather just walk to something simpler. Plus most people can get a 100% functioning person, why would they settle for 50%? Why? If it is a pity fuck, Ok maybe you can get one, but a relationship? That would be hard to find, you need to meet someone that is willing to wait for the answer of all the above questions and be able to live and share their life with 50% of a human.

ouch you are cruel! Sex is not what a relationship is built on...at least lasting ones. and if you care about a person you would make it work. And to answer some of your questions:

1) being paralyzed from the waist down doesn't mean he doesn't bathe...that's just a stupid idea right there! not to mention there are plenty of men who don't take care of their area and they have no reason for being "dirty".

2) If he has a strong upper body then all kinds of interesting things can happen. And I have to say one of the best positions (other than doggy style) is straddling my man's lap...we've done it in the passenger's seat, various chairs, etc. and whether facing forward or backwards it adds a sexy fun element. So missionary is not the only position possible dumbass! One of the first guys I had sex with was all over the place flipping me everywhere, and sex is not about the acrobatics...though some can be fun..it's about enjoying the joining of your body with someone else you are attracted too...

And lastly...being paralyzed doesn't make him half a person. I'm 5' tall, does that make me half a person since I'm short....no it makes things more interesting...trust me half the fun is discovering what works for both parties. Bacterius, people like you are the reason so many people are insecure about themselves. You're name fits because you are a bottom feeding piece of filth!

Well i appreciate straight shooting but thats pretty harsh. Ill have you know that i live ALONE. NO CARER. this means im fully independant, and I am !00% functional - i have a job, I play sport at the highest level, I have a social life. Sure I cant do doggy style or standing but there are optehr postions that are attainable. And anyone who looks upon a disabled person as dirty I dont want to know. They can go out and have an attitude readjustment.

Im not on a downer about being in the chair. It was the making of me, truly. I now have the chance to play a sport for team GB, I have determination and confidence more than most. Thank you for the 'advice'.

im not mad at the world. I did this to myself through being stupid. I accepted all blame for it, looked at myself and decided that laying in a bed wasn't going to change anything so I should get up and get on with my life.

And yes. Once its up, its going to stay that why for a while.

Im glad your not put off I can understand the problems, i think of them when i consider dating, yet I see it this way. if i got by by myself why would a partner change anything? Plus there are benefits (no the money ones) such as half price tickets to theatres, music gigs, sports events. Also I can generally get into anywhere despite dress codes, always get to the front of the queue in the bank.... see not all bad

First off, I admire you for getting past the obstacles of your situation.

Secondly women shouldn't see you as "in a wheelchair" without first seeing just who you are as a person. If the roles were reversed and it was a woman that I knew that was a paraplegic it wouldn't change anything for me. It all depends on one's attitude and outlook on life that makes or breaks a relationship.

Regardless of the sympathetic things some will say on here, being someone who also has a disability I will say no matter what happens, most people, not just some will be turned off by disabilities. It's pretty hard to get most to see past that. Personality just isn't enough. What people don't realize though is that we can still have perfectly healthy sex lives, function just like able bodied people, and all in all, people NEED to and should WANT to look past disabilities and realize there is more to the package than what is on the surface.

im a dude and from what u said im assuming ur a dude as well, im MUCHO STRAIGHT. but if i met a girl who was confined to a wheelchair. id definatly give her a chance. it dont take a para to be kind but if she was kind and smart and fun to be with, sex wouldnt matter. remember friend, if she like u for u and not the sex, then she will stand by you, as will you good luck, god bless
