How many here will filter the internet with porn blockers when you have kids?

My aunt caught my cousin surfing porn in his room. Now his computer is in the living room and it's got a cyber block. I just pretended I was shocked too when my mom told me about it...what else can you do, eh.

i have a son on the way (due in mid march) and i doubt that i will even bother with it. cause no matter what YOUR parents did to keep you from looking at a porno mag and/or movie, you all managed to get ahold what you wanted.

 

I tend toward the view that the computer should be out in the living room. But since I have two kids, I'm probably going to have to make some accommodation. Thankfully, I have a few years to consider the possibilities.

 

yea, those things never work, your kids will definitely find a way around a filter, no matter how good it is

My parents tried with me but failed miserably, not that i was ever caught mind you, my parents setup my first AOL account, ooh many years ago must have been 14/15 with all the necessary filters and blocks and all sorts and within half an hour I'd already gotten round them. Was never caught though unlike my sister.

As for me when i have kids I'm not going to bother, I'm rather open about this subject and if they want to look at it I'll let them, I'd rather have it open to them as an option rather than having it as something they aren't allowed to do and is viewed of as wrong simply because its human nature to be curious.

14/15? Those aren't children, those are adolescents. There's no point in blocking an adolescent's access. It just says you don't trust them, and assures that if they do run into any problems they won't tell you. I thought we were talking about blocking years aroud 5-8.

Never even heard of a Pr0n filter, yes Ive heard of filters for offices so their employees dont fuck around on the clock but eh... Basically im a Firefox man, always have... My parents never blocked anything really, basically no AOL for me that connection lagged my games reeeeallly bad

If I ever have kids im not gunna put a block up, hell ill show them the way to XNXX myself to save them some time! lol

 

I have no kids yet but I have actually thought about this quite a bit. I won't explicitly provide them with good sites or anything but I will not stop them for looking at what they want. It is fun and educational and I'll let them look if that is their choice.

No blocker. I have two teens. I'm not going to try and tell them they cant masturbate! kinda hypocritical isn't it? I don't like them being on for hrs and hrs at time. There are other things in life. (I think)

 

I wont put up a block, but I'll definately check the history, just to see what exactly they are looking at. Normal porn...even kinda weird porn i wouldnt mind.....but if I find the violent stuff, involveing rape, and beating and harrasment....then I'll put a stop to it.Cause thats how I just choose to raise my kids, i dont want them growing up on violent, and bad things, but growing up on just...enjoying aspects of the human body, and wanting to see the other gender experience those things to, I dont have any problem with.....yeah its complicated.

 

The history aint shit, thats soooo easy to clear dude.. I wouldnt rely on it

But eh Check the Local Files for .jpegs and shit... funny i found my DADS browsing history on his computer and laughed my ass off!
