Seems like the popular choices, Carls Jr. and In-N-Out, aren't available in my area. If forced to choose fast food I'd choose Burger King. The flame broiling makes all the difference.

I worked at a Wendy's when I was a teenager and I have steered far clear of them ever since. They always say that they serve the burgers fresh off the grill but the reason for that is because it will sit there until someone orders it. Yuck! And the burgers they serve with that cheese sauce with mushrooms in it is especially gross. The sauce congeals on top and the condensation from the cover drips onto it making a milky water on top. When they serve it they just mix it all together and ladle it right on.

Damn Inks, you're right, the last one closed in Nashville decades ago, but when I was a teenager in Corpus Christie, WhatABurger was my five star restaurant.

 

Carls Jr. is the same as Hardee's and they do make a good burger.

 

I Live a short walk from the Colonel. I never go there, except to buy a bottled drink. Just awful food.

I prefer Burger King if I have to pick among the chains. But I'd take an Acme Burger, Apache Burger, T-Bones burger, or a Dangerous Dan's burger over any chain food any day.

Just last season, I was in the US to meet a friend. On my way there I stopped in at Checkers. Their commercials looked so tempting and they have no locations in Canada. They were the worst of the worst ... wouldn't feed it to a dog.

I believe I get an experience out of singing that is every bit as worthy as a religious person singing the same music.

Might I also point out that people telling me I'm 'missing out' through my lack of [need for a] belief is extremely condescending.

Singing a-capella, one voice per part, and singing Tallis' Lamentations, or a Byrd Mass, or Palestrina, or the works from the Spanish Renaissance, or English Tudor motets - there is not purer experience, and you certainly don't need a God to appreciate it.

In what sense am I not immersing myself in the entire experience? What is more immersive than what I am doing?

 

Church has finished for the year, starts again next march.........and may the magpies prosper again.
