I don't think true polygamy should have the family separated at all. One house hold...one big family. I've seen that show, and it looks so stress ridden and divided...not at all what a family should be together.

 

Quite simply because us men quite naturally want to spread our seed to the four corners of the earth and sharing women isn't going to help in that quest!

The truth of it is that deep down in our male psyche every man would like to have a retinue of sexy ladies to pleasure us and spread our spawn.

The reality is this is never gonna happen unless you are a sultan or a sheikh so we opt for the best option available - a faithful partner. Not that I'm complaining, I'm not, I love my wife and I'm quite happy with my life.

Sharing a woman though is never going to be in our best interests and you've got male pride to deal with. If men didn't have that pride I bet women would not find them attractive in any case.

 

Being a guy who has studied law, I can tell you this:

According to my knowledge, neither Canadian, American, or Romanian law forbids you to have multiple male friends!

The only problem is, if you are married, at the same time, to all of them!

On the other hand, if you are married to only one man, and he does not press charges, there is no problem!

ADDENDUM: Even if your husband presses charges, providing, of course, evidence, it still isn't a criminal felony!
It just gives him some advantage in court, when you divorce!...

 

That's just it, if you are in a relationship with a another for more then a year, you are considered common-law partners, with all the same benefits as a married person. Polygamous partners can't be counted as common-law relationships either.
I just do not understand why most people have a knee-jerk reaction of, "Oh no what a horrible person to have two wives".
Like I said above, it CAN be done. I've shared a man with another woman. I've also had four men that were all my boyfriends, and none of us fought.

What about the arrangement itself. I hear a lot these days of open relationships and women that invite their girlfriends in to make their men happy. I have never had a close enough male friend that I would share a woman with...but women are different than men.

Could any women actually see themselves sharing their husband with their best friend on a full time basis?

Furthermore...even if you shared the husband side of things...would you still keep the sex one on one...or would you all just share a king size bed together.

I think I am probably polyamorous and probably could be in a triad or any other complicated relationship if everybody could handle it and felt the same way.

 

I believe I could do a relationship with two wives...but three would be pushing it. Not because of the sex, but because I think it would be harder to be a good husband to more than three without someone feeling neglected. I also believe that another woman in a house could actually create a better living atmosphere...women really do better with other women around...just my experience. It's only illegal to be married to more than one. That introduces problems with our legal system, insurance and social security being some of those.

I understand that Mormons ran afoul of the law by claiming unwed-mother child support for all the kids that were not from wife #1. "Working the system" in this way invited attention from the government.

Dispense with the whole legally married thing! Just find a like-minded group of smart, cool, open-minded, loving and sexy (so you're all sexy to each other) people, pool resources and buy a big-ass house and make a commune out of it! Cooking, cleaning, yardwork, helping kids with homework, babysitting, it all gets rotated/shared, etc. Most important thing is keeping the boundaries clear, most importantly with kids. That is, they're OFF limits for the parents. If the kids want to explore with each other, as many of us did, well, ok, that happens. Even so, while this might sound like a nice idea, we're human after all and drama would most likely ensue (jealousy, envy, insecurity, ridiculous female and male competition).

Yes that would be a great concept for the old concept of the man being the only breadwinner that scenario would be great, but as in my relationship and many others, my wife and I both work full time jobs.
