haha goldicocks condoms don't protect you 100% from herpes you can get it from a partner who has it if you use condoms all of the time. Yes it reduces the odds of being infected if your partner is infected but it certainly doesn't eliminate the chances.

Most people accept HSV1 as being "something everyone gets" and just a common nuisance and not so bad but when it comes to HSV2 there is a lot of stigma associated it while being distinct herpes viruses they also share 50% of the same DNA. So if you've had mouth cold sores for a while you have some protection of getting HSV2 and if you do in fact catch it your initial outbreak or other outbreaks will likely be not as bad given the shared immunity.
