  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

It happens....but what's with all of the hate? You must not value life very much. Dude, calm down!

    Now...On a side note.
THOSE DAMN BASTARDS! We'll have our way with those suicidal nutcases. Never forget 9/11. Never forget who our enemies are.
I remember being up in the twin towers as a kid. It was the highlight of my time. Now I'll never have the chance to go back and relive that youthful memory.
Those terrorists, rightfully named, seek to accomplish their goals only through the means of killing people, no matter who or how innocent the people maybe. They devalue life. No peace of mind, no harmony, no nothing. Just constant living hell. Remember 9/11! Remember who our enemies are! We fight for the value of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!

My worry is that people forget, people use this to channel hatred at anyone that doesn't agree with their ideas and beliefs.

Thank you Rockprincess for posting this thread and the kindness you have shown out of respect for all of the victims and their families due to that tragic day in 2001 . I read all the posts and will just say that I am with the others that think it is important to remember this day each year , and yes more could be done in the case of the other notable events in our history and my heart goes out to each and every fine person in our respective military's and all the sacrifices that they make daily so that we can have the freedom to post our thoughts here without fear of persecution , and yes they were also there to help on that day along side of the brave firefighters and emergency personnel that dug survivors out of tons of rubble while risking their lives to save others that might not have stood a chance without them .

I lost my dear friend in the plane crash in Russia the other day , but have enough room in my heart to remember the victims and the bravest of the brave , which are all of the great people that helped save lives that day .

    See this I don't appreciate.

A few things: First of all, in case you forgot, your country fucked the Middle-East up in the first place, as well as other places in the world. Your country is directly responsible for these groups existing in the first place.

Secondly, the USA got hit first, and hardest. When you got hit, years later, the lid was opened and everybody knew it was not only possible but more than a little bit likely.

You have absolutely no idea what it was like after 9/11. The anthrax scares, the threat level assessments, the bomb scares and disaster preparedness kits. As a teenager, I was being told we needed to have duct-tape at my house to seal windows in case of a dirty-bomb attack. We had new security measures, and through high school there were more and more. This was of course after Columbine and the numerous other school shootings, one of which happened in my state.

Our country hadn't been attacked in decades and the last time anything even resembling an attack happened was the failed bombing of the World Trade Center in '93. It came out of left field, to the country where everybody was safe and where things like that weren't even in the back of our minds. For the next almost entire decade, it was all we thought about, and it's still a major thing.

Do not ever make your country out to be tougher than ours. You're not. This stiff upper lip thing is a joke. We in the US have a stiff upper lip. We in the US have been desensitized, not you.

What happened on those trains and on that bus was a tragedy, no doubt, among other things, but it was nothing like 9/11 was for us. We were a country that couldn't be attacked, that hadn't been attacked or seen warfare in our country for over a century. Your country is very accessible, had gotten punched back by the IRA and were just completely different than us.

You're a fagot. For real, stop trying to talk like a badass just cus you smoke weed. Only little fagots do that shit, fagots who ain't shit and are little spoiled, sheltered punks.

    Fuck off, loser.

Of course, because 767 aircrafts fly directly into skyscrapers on a weekly basis and on those buildings it barely leaves a dent.

That said, here's what I was originally going to post in this thread: 9/11 was a tragedy, but it wasn't my tragedy and it wasn't a lot of people's tragedy. It was mostly a New York tragedy, somewhat a Washington tragedy, and it was a major tragedy for all of those directly affected by it.

Don't get me wrong, it was awful for people around the country, and the effects of it are almost immeasurable, but the fact is that by the time the World Series rolled around, I had almost completely forgotten about it, except when I was reminded by certain things, and I know that was the way it was for a lot of people. Maybe I was just too young and too far-removed from it, but eventually I realized that the fact is that it was a huge, symbolic event for this country and in my life but to me, that's all it was. I was not the least bit directly affected by it and have probably never met anybody who was. It makes me sick to my stomach to see the way outsiders have milked this, mainly politicians and FoxNews, etc, as well as TV shows, film companies, etc. I wonder how much of that money went to the actually affected people? Probably not a single penny. The way so many of them try to act like they were on the front lines, the way Bush and his cronies used the victims to go to war with Iraq for no fucking reason, the way Republicans used 9/11 as their catchphrase yet when push came to shove shit all over the real victims and real heroes.

The people in New York though, I mean shit I honestly am amazed that they didn't just let that city fall to pieces, and I wouldn't blame them for it a bit if they did. What happened to the communities of the firefighters and police officers and just all of the victims and everybody in that city I just can't even imagine. There's really nothing I can say to any of them and I think it would be disrespectful for me to even try.

I'm going to spend the day, minus the Eagles game of course, watching whatever September 11 footage and coverage and whatever that I can find in the archives of different places because that's really all I can do. After that, I'm going to put this day behind me for good except to recognize it as the tragedy it was for those people and those places, and of course with the objective view of the effects of that day, influences, etc.

Let's all remember the real heroes of that day, not the cowardly weasels who took advantage of all of it, and let's all take a moment of silence for those heroes and for all of the innocent victims who probably woke up thinking it was just another day.

Just to point out that 9/11 was just as big for us as the London bombings. 67 Brits died in 9/11 which is more than the 52 that died in tube bombings. The US, particularly NY is a symbol of western culture and the free world, when it was attacked, it was attacking the way of life for everyone that believes in liberty and justice.

I just found out that a friend and client of mine saw his brother-in-law killed by the attacks. He never forgives the Islamists.

I remember sitting in class the day it happened. I really didn't register it until the death toll numbers started to come in. I kinda just sat there asking myself 'What the fuck?'

10 years later and I'm over it. Tragic, yes. Does it need to be remembered, yes. Should it be mandatory to remember? No. Keep the people lost in your hearts and minds but let the people who lost them heal already.

I was in 8th grade when it happened. I couldn't believe it when I first heard. My teacher was so calm about it. "Oh yeah, two planes hit the World Trade Center..."

We were going to watch a documentary and we saw CNN footage for a brief 30 seconds. Tons of smoke coming from the towers. I couldn't believe it!

Then news of the Pentagon being attacked started to break through. I lived in the DC area at the time so the school became panicked. Kids were getting picked up by their parents. There were rumors all over the place. My science teacher (the very sexy Ms. Pacunas--see below) cried.

They dismissed school early and sent us home. I went home and my dad didn't even know what was going on.

For a while I was scared. I thought a nuclear attack was coming...but things became a little more stable after a couple of days.

I've always had a morbid imagination. 9/11 confirmed to me that nightmares really can come true.

They didn't dismiss school, instead we watched it over and over in every classroom.

Lots of people were crying and some just didn't understand. I never cried or anything but then again, I'm not exactly emotionally capable. Heh.

It's nice to see people who are not only socio-pathically emotionless but also simply rotten bastards revealing themselves.

You must also never be embarrassed about being such fuckers when YOU have tragedy in your lives and people with a soul try to comfort you.

    You are pitiful.

    WE REMEMBER.

I may be being cynical, but SOME Americans demand that the world remembers, but how many Americans will remember Madrid bombings or 7/7? they are my focus7/7 being 40 miles from me. Remember other attacks and others are more likely to agree with your mourning.

    Tis all

Of course, this is a day I will never forget. I worked with people (volunteer fire and ambulance personnel) who took leaves of absence to go down and help. I remember hearing from friends who lost, or knew someone who lost a loved one.

I also remember flying 2 months later. The change in atmosphere in the airports was so serious. I watched military personnel search diaper bags, take removable heads off of dolls, always searching so that we would be safe.

There was a silence on the plane. People were aware of their surroundings and they looked for any sign that we would be used the same way. There was fear.

We will never forget 9/11 - we are reminded almost daily by the changes our country instituted. I have a friend flying to the states today from Europe and I have fear.

    We will always remember.
