You know, I never believed such things existed until I was in my 20's. Gender assignment is pretty complicated; maybe someone can enlighten me. Are ALL she-males transexuals, i.e. someone who has made a conscious decision to alter their biological development ( via surgery or hormones ), or are some of these actually hermaphrodites? I'm under the impression hermaphrodites have a combination of chromosomal malfunctions going on that produce an a-typical genitalia.

Do "women" actually exist in nature that just happen to have functional penises but otherwise exhibit all the secondary sexual characteristics of a female ( body shape and psyche )?

Or are the ( relatively ) attractive she-males I've seen just biological males ( gay maybe ) with a gender identification problem that made them take hormones to restructure their bodies as a young person?

Apparently there is a category of "cross-dressers" that are not gay ( and not technically transvestites ). I had always assumed a cross-dresser was a gay submissive who just wanted to be fucked by a man and play the role of a woman. According to your breakdown, a she-male could be a very effeminate gay/bi man. Would you qualify it further by saying a she-male has taken additional steps to present themselves as female ( through some combination of surgery, cosmetics, behavior, and dress )?

Another thing I'm curious about, really, is how can she-males be "made" if one had a mind to do it properly? I know in Thailand they have "ladyboys" and I just assume these are young men who are coerced into the sex trade early and forced to take hormones. As a consequence I don't see very many Caucasian she-males; I assume the circumstances that lead to this condition are culturally influenced. I'm just wondering if there was a science to this, how does one go about creating a full titted female with a fully developed cock? I'd think that penile development would go hand in hand with the development of other secondary male characteristics, and depending on when you started hormone therapy you'd either end up with a pretty woman with a small cock, or a mannish woman with a large cock.

As you can see it's overcomplexity, when women bitch about utting on their faces and doing their hair" as how hard it is to be a woman, try being a transsexual!

 

So would you consider a guy a she-male if he was taking hormones but isn't interested in surgery? Is surgery the categorical consideration here, or am I making a mistake trying to neatly delineate all this into categories...

I cross-dressed a few times when I was 17 ( when I was passable ), but as a straight male just having fun and for the shock factor. It wasn't fetishism with the clothes but maybe the idea that I could be "pretty", I don't know. I wouldn't consider myself a cross-dresser, by habit or by your definition. Men in womens clothes don't really turn me on either; they really have to appear to me AS a woman before I can be interested. Lithe, shaved legs, etc.

I guess one of the reasons I started the thread, just wondering how its possible to properly transist an individual into the sex of their choice without the side effects of looking like some kind of intermediate and scary individual. I would guess the process has to start well before middle-age, before bone structures permanently develop, perhaps as early as puberty if the she-male expects to develop a nice set of tits.

 

This is not an all or nothing statement but, most she-males like still being a man and hormones would probably put them closer to the transvestite?
