I've been on the sex stories scene for about 5 years now,and it strikes me that a lot of authors I used to revere back in the old days aren't around any more. I could name kilogram, then there was Pallidan and a few others. I hoped to get in touch with them some day when I began writing and get soem cues and all. As it turns out I've been emailing them and getting either delivery errors or no replies.

It makes me wonder what they're upto now. Few possibilities I've found out
1. They gave up writing for some reason.
2. They shifted to paid writing and so stopped putting stories on free sites
3. They shifted to other genres
4. They shifted to non erotic writing
5. They shifted to lesser known sites (not likely)
6. They're dead.

These are just possibilities and I'd ask the members, some of whom must have been on the scene a lot longer than me to tell me how valid are my presunptions ? Or are there other reasons? Or am icsimply mistaken andthe guys are still out there somewhere?

Asking because it's a pity u can't find new works, when their quality of writing was so high.

Writing is one of those hobbies where, if you're doing it for free, life might take over and you might have to put it aside for a while. Then it's extremely difficult to get back in once you've left for so long.

I've been trying to write some stories for a long, long time, but I can't finish any. It's been about 3 years since my Alexis series ended, and nothing else will come to me, no matter how many times I get fan emails asking me to keep writing it.

Now, if I was getting paid, I bet I could write a soap opera-length series

 

Principles

I can only speak for myself, and I haven't been around here as long as you, but I did spend several years reading stories here before I signed up. Shortly after I signed on here and started posting some of my stories, there were major problems with the site and quite a bit of consternation that wasn't apparently even acknowledged by the administrators (not moderators). Finally, some changes were made, which may or may not have been "improvements". A good number of authors were upset and I predicted at that time that the problem would only snowball, as I've seen happen on other public forums. I was right.

I know that many authors posted here because there were no "limits" or rules regarding story themes. Then, after all the software/hardware problems, someone decided that "pedo" stories would no longer be allowed, however no definition of that was given. The owners of the site have the right to make that decision - any other..

From my point of view as an author, contributing content to this site without pay, if the site makes such rules, then I have the same right to forego providing any further free content. That's the decision I've made.

From the vigourous discussions of this rule, it seems that many other authors felt the same way. Thus, there are a number of writers who will no longer post story content to this site. For me, and probably for a number of them, it's a matter of principle. Censorship is like being pregnant; it's an either or situation, not one of degree.

I post my stories now on another site that has no restrictions as to content. Contrary to some of the comments some of my stories got here, I've yet to receive a negative or nasty comment on the other site. It's been really a pleasure to continue to post there.

I've had a major case writers block for over a year, so my productivity has been decreased dramatically, and the only complaints I've gotten on the other site is for my lack of posting more material. Quite refreshing.

Even if I didn't write stories with underage characters included sometimes, I wouldn't continue to post them on a site that practiced censorship of certain themes. If the site decided that violent rape or snuff was not suitable for story themes, while I don't write those I would, because of the principle of censorship, refrain from posting any of my content on that site. Like I said, it's a matter of principle.

I still visit this forum regularly to see posts of dear friends that I've made here, but until the site decides to go back to non-censoring, then none of my material will be posted here, no matter what the theme. I'm sure many of the authors you refer to feel at least somewhat the same way.

The owners/administrators have the right to make any rules they wish. If other authors wish to post despite the censorship, that is their right. It is entirely MY right not to post to a site with those rules. I would encourage other authors to refrain from posting content of any type here as long as the censorship remains. If they don't agree, that's their right too.

I too, although i am amatuer at that; write in patches. I'll post several stories then fall of the grid, then be back 6-12 months later with different stories.

 

There's almost got to be some of that.
I still post something here, and there, but it's just a matter practical time management that I don't post more.
My girl likes me to leave the age open so I can post stuff I write for her, but that's pretty much it, and I don't have the time to re-edit my other stuff into "xnxx" versions, not when there are other options.
Most of my fan base seems to have migrated, but for the few still here interested in my writing it's no skin off my nose to post what I can.
I can totally understand taking a stand on principle, but I also sympathize with readers caught in the middle.

 

well i can't speak for the rest of the old authors but im enjoying the new batch of writers that are coming through
