So being a guy who frequents the gym I was wondering, what is it like to be a woman in a gym?
I've been told it can be awkward because you're just there to work out and it's annoying when guys are still checking you out or trying to hit on you, but as a guy it doesn't really happen to me, so I'm just curious.
What are your thoughts?

 

I don't mind if they check me out. Sometimes I fantasize about guys' cocks getting hard as they try not to let it show. That's why I dress kind of sexy for the gym...you know, with the low-cut leo, no bra....if I didn't want guys to look, I'd wear baggy shorts and a loose t-shirt.

 

In general people go where they want to go, unless where they go is absolutely necessary. Going to the gym? Absolutely necessary? Other alternatives? Don't know. All I know is my wife complains of the digusting men when she does go. And she goes three times a week, without fail. Oh well. You tell me.

 

I was just thinking the same thing OP. I toured a new gym in the neighborhood Friday,..and it was flooded with gorgeous women of all ages. I could hardly concentrate on what the rep was telling me. All, and I mean ALL I could see was the tight black spandex that goes to the mid thigh or to the calves,..wrap around curvy bodies. I myself go there to train and blow off alot of work stress. But it is hard to focus when some women "don't intentially" present themselves the way men look at them. I don't blame women for being upset at the gawking guys. But when you're beautiful, with or without sweat,..with or without makeup,...you're a heavenly sight to behold and I admire them. Not gawk or stare,...just smile on the inside and say WOW!:rose:

 

Fair enough. And thank you very much for the lovely image:excited:. But what about if you're dressed in between? A lot of the girls my age wear more spandex. So say, what if a girl is wearing spandex shorts or yoga pants with a regular t-shirt?

Besides the whole not being able to concentrate thing this is exactly how I feel. It doesn't matter what clothing you wear, hell wear a mumu for all I care (though I don't advice it for exercising). If I think you're attractive chances are I'm going steal a few glances, not stare or drool or play out sex fantasies with you in my mind; but just look, appreciate your attractiveness, and maybe even crack a smile.

 

Well, I work in a small private health club/gym where I teach yoga. In every - and I mean EVERY - gym I've ever been in, men are constantly checking out women...and pretty much every woman gets the eye regardless of her age or the way she dresses for her workout. Of course, women dressed like my friend Kimiko here obviously get more attention than others. :excited:

 

I totally agree that it doesn't seem to matter that much what you wear. Most of the guys at my gym are fairly subtle about these things, but I still catch them pretty often. They look at women a lot older than I am, too.

As for the woman who teaches yoga classes at my gym...I probably check her out more than the men do.

 

The gym has many hot women in tight clothing. I'm a dork at the gym, I actually dress to work out. The guys are in tang tops and some even take there shirts off. Its like a safety dance in a gym.

glad i do not have such problem , gyms here are either all men or women , it is more comfy that way actually , u can focus on ur workouts , showing everyday not afraid some lady will check out how much u left , or how unattractive ur body is

I just wear track pants and a shirt, kinda boring.

 

I don't know, I can actually thank women for some of my PR's regarding some of my core lifts. They probably weren't looking, but just in case haha.

 

The weight room in our gym is a male dominated area both men and women check each other out in the other common areas (mostly glances) What pisses me off is the blond twat who comes there with a friend and goes out of her way to catch the men's eyes and attention by asking for help in our weight area. I've learned to block out or getting caught up in flirtation or socializing and especially, not with the gym bunnies there looking for juiced up dick (they're like the barfly) I respect the women that are there for business and that's more sexy than just the way they look, which I will appreciate outside the gym since heavy weights and lack of focus will just get me hurt, waste my time and money! Sorry to the women who've had bad experiences in male dominated gyms that weren't there to get fucked too!

 

Ever since I was just a high school kid, the boys were looking at girls, and vice-versa...
The gym was the place where we could look at each other better...
The only better places were our homes, when our parents were absent...

People look at each other everywhere!
At the gym, at work, on the streets, in a shop, wherever!

The only moment that can be considered a problem is when a person tries more than looking, without the consent of the other person!

 

Few things are quite as sexy as a cute girl that knows how to work a squat rack

 

lol this is exactly why i like being in all guys gym , i do not try to lift more to show myself as tough which is wrong , if the weight is too heavy then the exercise is wrong

and trust me they always check , 99% of ppl who hit the gym just do it to get better sex not better health

 

That is like some women that wear shorts with writing on the back then get pissed off when your looking at their ass LOL

 

It's not that I wanted to show I was tough, but in some cases if I thought a girl was checking me out I'd have a boost in confidence. That confidence serves as a distraction for the amount of weight I'm moving and also adds into the belief factor.
I gambled in those instances and ended winning, and sometimes I don't. You have to pick yourself up and use it as motivation.
Sometimes you just have to go for it, whether the weight is heavier than what you've previously lifted or not. If you never strive for anything beyond what you're used to then you won't see real progress. I think this anecdote about Bruce Lee describes it better than I ever could:

Congrats on going back soon then. I was without a gym for a few months and I was like a heroin addict being denied my drug of choice haha.

I'd just like to thank all the women that have posted on here so far. Being a guy I will never know what it's like to be a woman in the gym, but your replies have been very helpful. Any more women who would like to respond are quite welcome, and in fact encouraged to do so!

 

Sorry to revive an old thread (my own at that) but I thought that it pertained to the subject.
I've recently taken up a yoga class and as I expected, I'm one of only a few guys in there. This doesn't bother me in the least bit, but I feel like a lot of girls are stealing glances at me. This could be paranoia, false assumption based slightly on vanity, or truth. Honestly besides asking every female in the class I have no way of knowing.
So I was wondering: do y'all, as women, check out guys during a session? (If you've ever been in a yoga class that is)
