If you’re an author on this site please listen to me for a minute and voice your own opinion.
I love the freedom this site allows in content but there is a huge problem.
One we have no control over editing an already posted story in which mistakes were missed in the story line or grammar.
The other problem is having no control over the comments posted at the end of the story.
It’s great to get feedback but I absolutely hate all the solicitations for what is obviously illegal contact.
I would love the webmaster’s of this site to make it possible for us as author’s to edit/delete our own work and the comments.
Literotica has that function, so why can’t it be done here?
It would make the workload for the administrators go down because they don’t have to do our requested deletions, and we could police the comments that have nothing to do with feedback.
Author’s need feedback! Good and bad, but we don’t need kids asking for sexting, kik me@dipshit for a good time etc.
Am I the only author that feels this way?
Why can’t I go and edit my own work or delete it if I want to?
It’s not like this place is low on stories to post.
Please express your opinions and maybe we can get this changed.

The admins have been approached about giving the authors permission to delete their comments. They absolutely will not do that because of the freedom of speech that they allow.

Recently, comments are being looked at daily and comments that would normally belong on Craig's List are being removed. The author may be able to see them, but the public can't. I know that for a fact because I had comments removed from my stories a few years ago. No one can see them but me.

I think the reason for not allowing continuous editing is because chance that a writer could significantly change or even delete the story after it's been published, leaving only the title.

For an admin to make changes to your story for you, its a very long involved process. If you want to edit your story and repost, you can, then send a link to the story you want removed to the email shown on the Home Page.

First - welcome to the forum, the slightly saner side of the site.

Second - many of us have wished and requested the same ability to handle the 'call for...' and 'anyone wanting...' stuff like that. Its been going on for some time and still happens.

I think there is a procedure you can request one of the moderators to delete any such comments, but I cannot be sure. PM one of the moderators and politely ask if there is such a procedure and if so, how is it done.

Understand that as this is a free site w/o advertising and such so the administraiton sets the procedures for all things. If anythign you may have to do as I did when publishing in the main story site, disable all comments or live with the garbage.

If you have any stories I would encourage you to post them in the forum, we have many authors and readers who you can get advice from, if needed, (mind you for all I know as of this post you may be Stephen King in disguise) or desired; and we have a great number of readers who do not write but give honest critiques of a story IF POLITELY ASKED.

I've been around since 2011 so I'm not all that new(38 stories posted). I just don't get into blogging all that much. I really appreciate the information both of you have given me and I understand the editing problems. I can see where someone might cause a legal problem by editing a story after its posted.

All the same its seems there should be some kind of solution that doesn't involve multiple emails that are never answered. I've asked to have certain stories removed that needed editing to no avail. I have more to do than send and email requesting a story removed everyday and it should not be that difficult.

Everything snow says is true.

I used to post only on the Sex Stories site and got viciously trolled by some guy who targeted a few of us. This clown would post multiple comments on a story, often several in an hour, sometimes posing as different persona, to rant about Obama, race, homosexuality, and a few other topics, and to accuse me of plagiarism, statutory rape, and other niceties. I finally turned off all comments on my stories.

Post your stuff here, too. Start a new thread for each story, or if it suits you better, start a thread for your story collection. Mingle, hang out, check out the CAW threads. There are assholes here, too, along with socks and trolls, but you can't post completely anonymously on the forum like you can on the Sex Stories site. People know that a thread in the sex stories forum usually isn't where they should put cock pics, and hook-up crap gets deleted swiftly. Rule-breakers get banned over here, and it's pretty well peer-policed.

Even when I log out those comments are still there for all to see, and if they don't want me to write a sex story about a 12 year old why would they want comments like that to remain?
If they let writers police their own comments it would make things a lot easier for everyone.
At the very least the option to approve comments would be nice.

I have quite a few perverts send messages like that in the main story site plus one who wanted to sell snow tires (yes), and one where a man called for assisted suicide (that one made me so sick it aided in stopping me from posting there anymore)

The main story site just got to be such a drag of having stories of mine shot to pieces in seconds I go tsick of it.

 

I have three stories and if anyone says any negative shit angry mobs decend upon them and the flaming in the commentns section begins i find it quite amusing. No one else has this problem? My stories are total shit by the way. Actually my catelog is something on the order or 60 eh all crap.

 

Ha! I posted some samle stories on the forum and had to beg for commentary it made me want to cry!
