Since I traverse that state several times a year (corner to corner) it would be nice to know that it no longer existed. However, the area that it now occupies would still be the same boring piece of s(hit)cenery.

I'm rather fond of Texas and all the Texans I have the pleasure of knowing!!! While I didn't see any honest-to-goodness cowboys (think tight blue jeans, white dress shirts, boots mmmmmmm) while I was there, I did see a herd of Texas longhorns...magnificent beasts!!!

I think I would like to kick out either Mississippi or South Carolina, except for Charleston. That's a great town. Ooohhhh wait....UTAH!!! It's mostly desert. I've always felt we should make Utah the country's cemetery. Nevada and New Mexico are also deserts...maybe shove them into the Grand Canyon so North Carolina and California would be closer to each other...

We don't have big horses, but we do have three miniature ponies. They are descended from the mine cart ponies of ancient Rome, you know!

the cowboy or cowgirl chooses a calf to cut out of the herd and keep it from rejoining the herd and pen it. the only way i could tell is the saddle is a cutting saddle it is built different from other western saddles.

and i think Illinois should be kicked out because that's where all the more corrupt politicians come from.

Hi! I googled "backside of a cowboy" images and found the above picture on this gal's blog. It's her boyfriend, but she didn't include any information as to where this was photographed...she posted it to show how fine the backside of a cowboy is and I agree!! She may have posted the whereabouts on her facebook and tweet accts, but I'm not going to search that far...I'll just take your word for it, DDrebelrose.

 

Definitely arizona. I feel like they are taking their individual power too far and separating themselves from the states in a hateful and distasteful manner with regards to immigration.

My original supposition to get rid of Texas does seem to have some support. Perhaps not the majority but at least a significant minority.

I've seen the right-wing fanatics propose seceding from the Union but:

Texas would have to get passports to travel to the U.S.
It would lose all federal government aide (hope for no more disasters?)
Interstates would have to be funded by Texas
Soc Sec and Medicare would be gone.
Picture no federal departments at all.
If you thought illegal immigrants was an issue before, how many Texans would cross the border?
Even regulations gone. EPA, USDA, DOT, OSHA.. can you say e coli?

But, that's why they're called fanatics.
