This 'cunt' as you say has every right to hunt in any country, continent, or state as long as she follow the laws of those country's continents or states.

I don't live in the UK so I cannot comment on it with any authority. However, many people, including experts in the field, consider that it may be doing more harm than good as TB-infected badgers move out of their setts into new areas where they will pass on the disease to cattle. There are, however, some areas such as Wales, which have decided that vaccination is the best means of eradicating the disease.

However, the cull is being carried out by professionals far away from the glare of the TV cameras. I may not agree with it in principle but at least we don't see gunmen and women drooling over the corpses of the animals they have killed.

The lion in the picture is one of the old culls. They are chosen for the hunters as they will not live much longer. In his pride there is plenty of his daughters. The bloodline needs to be changed to limit the in breeding. A younger male from a different pride will take his place. Shooting him is a much kinder death than the one he would have if left in the pride.

That is the way lion hunts are done. Usually when a male lion reaches the age of 5-6 years they are chosen to be trophys for hunters. In another year they will become a shell of what he is now. The younger male that would take over his pride would either kill him or drive him out of the pride. He would slowly starve without his pride or be killed and eaten by other lions.

 

Ok, Hector....we get it. You're not now, nor will ever be a proponent of sport hunters or hunting in general. However, joining in the mob that's condemning this lady for performing an act that she was licenced for and allowed to do by the local authorities just because you don't agree with it is paramount to someone calling for the arrest of the owners of a site like this and it's shutdown because they don't agree with your moral code....

So I clicked the link that Hector graciously posted for us, and I didn't see a single picture of Ms. Bachman "drooling" over the corpses of any animals. I saw her posing for photographs with her kills, which has been a tradition among both sport hunters and subsistence hunters since it became possible to bring a camera on a hunt. But no drooling. She is a proud hunter, nothing more. And as for the "petition" to exclude her from South Africa, it was raised by a single resident and has 7,300 supporters, many of them from other countries. That hardly constitutes a serious effort to banish her from the country. Its more akin to a few hippies having a hard time with hunting. Hippies like the ones at change.org, a notorious hard core, left wing clearing house for everything hippie and made of hemp.

I think Hector simply has a bug up his ass about Americans and hunting. Actually, I know for a fact he has a bug up his ass about Americans, the fact that an American hunts is simply more than he can bear. Hunting is something that has been going on in pretty much every country in the world since before the first proto-humans figured out how to attach a sharpened stone to the end of a stick. While I am not a hunter, I have hunted. And yeah, when I got my picture taken with the deer I shot, I smiled. Get over it.

Shooting an animals that lays around in the sun is by no means a sporting chance.

 

I read about this a few days ago and I'm curious: was it the endangered Lion?

I think strict sport hunting is pretty lame, but if it's not endangered and not illegal... then oh well. She likely spent a pretty penny on killing it. Did you know that there are reserves where you can go "hunting" for various African game for a price? A water buffalo, last time I looked (a few years ago) ran about 10k USD. Did you know there are companies that will take you prairie dog hunting in the midwest with 50 cal rifles? It's hilariously cruel because they explode.


Anyway, if it was the endangered lion...then I think it shouldn't have been done. Otherwise? Another overcompensating hunter at worst.

as far as i know most of if not all the meat from Big Game hunting is given to locals to eat more often then not the skin and head is all the hunter brings back to the US and if stories or pictures about hunting bug you so much don't fucking read them or look at the pics problem solved

 

A couple of points and I will leave you alone. Nobody with a brain uses a fifty caliber rifle on prairie dogs. The cheap ammunition costs four dollars a round and carries too far to be safe. I'm not saying they don't do it, but they are wasting A LOT of money to do it. The most popular rounds for prairie dogs are .22-250 and .223, with .308 holding a distant third. And besides that...how is it "cruel" because the explode? They never know what hit them as opposed to crawling off with their guts hanging out and dying in a hole in the ground. and yes, the .22 caliber centerfire rifles will make them explode too.

Second, nobody goes to Africa to hunt water buffalo. Ever. For any reason. Even if they are insane. They go to Africa to hunt Cape buffalo. The Cape buffalo is one of the African Big Five. The five most dangerous game animals on the planet, and incidentally where Big Five sporting goods gets its name. Lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant and cape buffalo are the Big Five. The Cape buffalo is considered to be the most dangerous of all of them, and they are responsible for more deaths annually than the other four combined. They are also considered the hardest to kill and have been known to kill the men who hunt them with surprising regularity.
