Are you familiar with the expression "an hour late and a dollar short"? Unfortunately, that's where you are in all of this. You are taking things at their base level, and not seeing between the lines, which is where this lil' game of high stakes poker is being played.

This thread, as I pointed out in the other thread, was poking fun at said thread, because that thread was nothing more than a shameless attempt at stirring shit by the Stirshit master himself. Just calling it what it is.

With regards to people doing their own thing, sure, it's a free country. So tell me, when someone walks up to you in a fairly crowded room of people that know you and calls you a two-bit whore and a fucking cunt...would you simply go on with your conversation and ignore the person?

That, of course, was a dramatic example, and I mean no offense to you. In fact, I just took you off my ignore list. My point is that just as it is someone's right to create a thread, it's other people's rights to post within that thread, and that's what was being done.

As I indicated, you are seeing only part of the picture here.

It reminds me of the scene in The Godfather when Clemenza is talking to Michael Corleone and telling him that after he kills police captain McCluskey and Sollozzo that there will be an all out war among the five families, and that it needs to happen every 5-10 years, to clear out the bad blood.

Seems the same here...just 5-10 months, not years.

People doing their own thing, is great. It should be applauded and encouraged, right up to the point it starts interfering with others doing their own thing. The cause of the conflict is not the fact that Rosey-Palmer did his own thing, the cause is that he is trying to tell others what they can do. Such as "You're not allowed to post in this thread because I think you're part of a clique."

Rosey-Palmer has no authority on this board, he has no right to exclude or include anyone in a thread. The only authority he has is the authority to post a thread and take his lumps just like the rest of us.

I originally opposed the KAW when it was introduced, but I came to understand the reason for it. We have many talented writers on this forum. Because of this some other writers, who see themselves as less talented, would not enter the contests against them. By asking these talented writers to bow out for the KAW it encouraged others to participate. It was not meant as a slap in the face, and I think most came to understand that.

The CAW SS was an outstanding idea. It was placed with poor timing and was seen as competition for the KAW. Both contests turned into "arousing" successes.

In the end it comes down to having no conflict with anyone doing their own thing as long as they don't try and tell us what we can do.

Seriously, I am completely taking things at base level, as I have really tried to stay away from the thread. I made mistakes I never meant to make, and although I apologized, I still felt awful, so I stayed away.

Horse, you are absolutely correct, I don't know any of the background of this conflict. However, I love to read your stories, and I seek them out often. Thank you for removing me from your ignore list.

I also find Mr. Palmer's work wonderful. I adored his story "Be Still My Love," and I think there is just so much talent on this site!

I guess it may go back to my miserable childhood, where when conflict got started, it almost always got violent. And, when it got violent, you better run and hide FAST, or the things they would do to you would be unspeakable.

Anyway, I babble. I guess my main point is that I wish everyone could get along, but if not, I'll just mind my own business, and enjoy the magical cave of stories waiting to be read here.
