The great thing about visiting the forum on XNXX is that you learn something new every day of the week. Sometimes its DeviousDave who gives us the latest updates in the scientific world and then there are the others who teach us things we never knew about history.

Now I'm Scottish and history lessons about the country used to piss me off at school, so I gave up the subject and carried on with geography. Today, however, I've had a reply on a thread which has brought me up to speed with British history and those who have preconceived ideas would do well to read it as you may well learn something.

Now that is something I didn't know until today. Maybe if this guy had been my teacher at school I might have taken more interest in the subject.

It is simply superb.

 

I know it but the problem is he doesn't explain who was in charge of the British Empire between 407 when the Romans left and 927 when Athelstan became the first king of a unified England. I've looked on Google but found nothing. I think it could have been either the King of Germany or the King of America but I'm not sure which.

 

Other interesting facts you probably didn't know.

India is a big country in the middle of Birmingham. That's why the area is known as the "Black Country".
Pakistan was originally in two parts: one of them is in Bradford and the other in Leicester.
The West Indies are so-called because they are to be found in the area around Notting Hill which in the western part of London.
The Rock of Gibraltar, which is the subject of conflict between Britain and Spain, is named after a racehorse which used to be owned by Sir Alex Ferguson who was the previous manager of Manchester United.
