So I went to the GYM today and had some odd looks. I couldn't understand why tell I had some one ask me if I should be working out. I was confused and asked what he meant by that. I guess that everyone thinks that pregnant women should not be working out. HA, what a joke. Just cuz a girl is pregnant doesn't mean that she still can't work out. Has anyone else ever been pregnant and been given some odd stairs for doing something normal?

 

My wife was mowing the lawn one day while she was pregnant. She was on the riding mower and I was using the trimmer. An elderly gentleman stopped, got out of his car and began telling me how big of a bastard I was to have my wife mowing the yard when she was with child.

 

You understand the perception is horrible... my wife would never be doing that under any circumstance... pregnant or not.

Edit: I just re-read it notice you were using the trimmer but still man I dunno just doesn't sound right

 

Some people are so naive and overprotective as to pregnant women, working out is most certainly important for you, the baby and can even make the birthing process a little less uncomfortable when the time comes. Keep on rocking it!

I am a man, I am very much in to fitness, there is nothing at all wrong with a pregnant woman working out, lol did they think you was going to break, or that you don't know your own body.

She was on a RIDING mower, not using a push mower. She wasn't doing any sort of manual labor at all. She was just fine. Cooking and doing dishes are a million times more strenuous than using a riding mower.

 

I have had only one child. But those last few months I kept feeling that I was being watched more closely than ever before. Not sure if they were watching for my well being, or that they were trying to catch me doing dome thing wrong, or if it was my bust size grew and made every top had much tighter? I also had strange looks from men too and many more awkward conversations than usual, like they were trying pickup lines and such, but not sure how to phrase them.

 

It was her own choice. Pregnancy is a condition not a disease. Do you think our great great grandmothers sat around knitting all day, no. True in some cases pregnant women need close monitoring but in normal cases not.

 

Yea I get what your saying but the perception(keyword) is just awkward... I never said pregnancy is disease. I feel most people are very attentive to pregnant women because its special no one wants to see a women let alone a pregnant women in danger. I don't think working out is a biggie but doing yard work is something else.

 

Idk much about pregnancy and working out tbh but I think it pretty much depend on what kind of workouts you going to do and at what month ur pregnancy is in ?

all in all , working out is dangerous , it is more dangerous than washing dishes for sure or making food or going to work , so for the safety of the baby i don't think it is right , and i also hear lifting heavy things can cause the pregnancy to fail if it is in the early in the first month or the 2nd *might be wrong tho*

 

As long as what you're doing does not harm the baby and you can do the movements without discomfort and your Dr. Is good with it feck the rest!

 

People are weird.

Do whatever the doctor says you can or should do. That includes exercise, eating tacos, or participating in a juggling contest. The last thing you should ever be concerned about are the opinions or looks of people who are not your friends and family.

 

IowaGirl, keep doing what you are doing and being the healthy woman that you are! And fuck those ignorant morons who look at a (pregnant) woman funny for working out or doing yard work. It's unfortunate that pregnancy is regarded as a disease in the US and the only way to 'cure' it is to drug it out or cut it out.

Yep, people are stupid. Have five kids, and each time the OB/GYN told my wife to make sure she keeps up with her normal exercise routine.... being preganant isnt a disease or disability... and a healthy mother gives the baby a better chance at healthy life.

But we did get the odd looks. My wife was 8 months pregnant when we married. So, we skipped the honeymoon then, and got year in advance tickets for Celion Deon in Las Vegas and a few days reservation at the Flamingo. Well, when we got to Vegas in a year, my wife was 7 months pregnant with the next kid LOL. You just dont see many pregnant women in the casinos. Why? because the only thing that makes up for all the money you are going to lose gambling is, the free alcohol. And most people know drinking isnt a good think during pregnancy. So we did get a LOT of looks in the Vegas Casinos.

Oh, as for the RIDING lawnmower poster. You did say riding? Helle houses old roof was off, in move, thats a priveledge, not a chore. I fought with my brother and cousins for the right to mow my grandpas lawn on the lawn tractor. And my kids are the same way... if she were pregnant and in 12 inch weeds with a push mower, thats one thing. But a riding lawnmower is FUN not work.

My wife and I were reroofing our house, started in June, and I was doing it myself but it could take a few weeks becasue it NEVER rains here in June. Well, as soon as the old roof was stripped, in moves a storm and our friends and family come over to desparately get the roof finished.....my 6 month pregnant wife is on the roof pulling old shake nails out of the wood rails we are reusing LOL

 

Should have told him "you might have something there.....At the rate she's going she'll be splitting wood till midnight."

Sorry to comment on spelling, but poor spelling detracts from a good question. "why tell I" - how about "why, until I" and as for "been given some odd stairs" - "being given some odd stares" makes the ideas easier to read and appreciate.

As for you being pregnant and working out - providing you aren't too close to giving birth, the workout shows that you are conscientious about maintaining your health and giving your new child a better chance at a good start to their life.

 

Somehow, men finding an attractive woman who is pregnant, don't really know what to say - possibly a "pregnant pause", if you will excuse the terrible pun.

As for the larger bust size, I imagine you are used to people appreciating your breasts, and getting ready for the other mouth to feed just gave you more to appreciate!
