Seriously, the attempt to make psychology a hard science (which it will never be--humans are not machines) has lead to a complete lack of common sense.

I think the study was done on people in both long-term monogamous relationships and the otherwise, so sorry to shoot that down. Psychology isn't perfect, but at least people want to understand/help other people.

 

That's just it. There are too many variables. Occam's Razor says the simplest answer is probably the correct one. If a woman is terribly lonely and is also not drinking cum on a regular basis, which is more likely to be the cause of her depression? If a woman's life is turned upside down by separation from her high school sweetheart, and is cut off from her daily spermshake, which one is probably responsible for her change of mood?

It's not the people I have a problem with, it's the field. From psychoanalysis down to today's chemical psychiatry, there has been an abysmal record of failure to fix what is actually wrong with people's lives.

Sorry to rant on you, Novice. I'm sure you mean well, but I get so mad when I see the damage done by the psycho community. There are things out there that actually work, that get ignored because they don't fit into the psycho paradigm.

btw, At the mental hospital, what's the difference between the doctors and the patients? The patients can get well and go home.

 

On your first response, I think what you said is a completely inaccurate speculation and seemingly contradictory to your second sentence. There really are too many variables. So it would be completely absurd to say the decline in sperm intake was the result of the girl's depression, in your examples, that is.

But I completely agree with your second response. It is just like the legal system, good in some ways, but the procedure is too concrete to make it really work.

This is a logical conclusion, but you would be surprised at the amount of girls (and guys) who are content with the pill even for casual relationships. Also I think that’s something the researchers would have considered.

In regard to the question about it working orally; if I’m not mistaken the article I read about this before was claiming it was due chemical reactions and diffusions that happen vaginally. I wish I could remember where I saw it, it was pointed out to us by one of my former college professors.

 

I vote that this whole concept is wishful thinking of the good doc who's researching this part.
