I saw that the big orange warning on the front page has been removed, as well as the original smaller one below it. Does that mean we can go back to posting underage stories without fear of censorship?

 

It was the owner's decision to remove the banner however he has not yet said whether he's changed his mind about the age limit. We will keep you posted as soon as we hear.

 

I find it amazing that the owner can't be bothered to tell the mods what the policy is, or about the new site name or generally wtf is going on. Especially after all the work and upset.

It's just insulting IMO. I know you can't say that yourselves.

Anyway let this be a lesson to you guys: the owner is NOT someone who deserves your unthinking obeisance. Or in fact your respect at all. You are writers and clearly a lot smarter, more respectful and more worthy than them.

So next time some half-baked idea comes down, make up your own minds what to do. You could have ignored this one completely and things would have been a lot better for it.

 

In truth, no, we couldn't just ignore a direct order, just like you can't ignore a direct order from your boss. It IS frustrating to not have a new warning in place, but at this point, the age standard remains.

 

If your age standard is still in place, why am i still seeing many many underage stories posted???? The entire Ten of Them is still posted, and nothing has changed. If they "grandfathered" some, then the entire Boy In The Grass, as well as others need put back up now. Underage is underage. Justify me that one. I dare you, tell me why that series is still posted, and not others with similar situations, I'm betting that you can't. I'm almost betting that with people refreshing pages to get new updates on those stories, the owner didn't want to upgrade, therefore, put up the "limits" and like good little minions, took away many of the best series on here, but, your loss, have fun ya'll. outie

 

All of the mods had a choice and they still do going forward.

One choice would be to just ignore the new rule, making it a priority so low that you never get around to doing it. Kind of like a cop friend of mine who said he'd never given out a jaywalking ticket in his entire career because he felt doing so was demeaning and a complete waste of time.

Another choice would be to tell the admins that you no longer feel comfortable censoring other writers, many of whom you considered to be your friends before they were driven away. Tell them you'd be happy to continue doing all of the other mod functions, but you have a reverence for the written word that doesn't allow you to be a book burner. It would probably take the admins a year or two to get around to responding to or ignoring your message anyway. In the meantime, just ignore them the way they ignore you. Maybe someday they will realize that communication is a two-way street and begin acting like professional business people.

Another choice would be to resign in protest of the rule. Maybe that's a little extreme, but you could still be a member without feeding the bonfire and bragging about being the grim reaper of free speech.

Everyone here has the choice to do what you will. No one here feeds their family with a paycheck from xnxx. No one is dependent upon them. The only benefit you reap is the allure of being a mod and whatever that brings you personally. But if you like being a censure, by all means, continue doing what you believe in. It's an individual choice everyone can make going forward.

 

The reason that series and many other stories are still posted is we haven't gotten to it yet. There are about 50,000 stories on the sex stories site with dozens more coming in every day. We're working backwards chronologically from newest to oldest. You are absolutely correct that underage is underage. With only a few people working a few hours a day as volunteers, it will take a while to go through everything.

We've asked the owner to explain the new rule to the membership, but as of this time, have not heard anything. He's really under no obligation to respond -- it's not like any of us are paying for a service here. Maybe he knows people won't read his explanation or will tell him he has no right to do this, but guess what? It's his site to do with as he wishes.

We all have the right to comply or leave.

To our knowledge, it has NOT been lifted, so if you intend to post stories about sexually aware and active characters under age sixteen, they may get removed.

 

On the story site there's no indication of a 16+ rule. There's the old No Pedo rule on the submission page, that's all. You can't expect every writer to happen to visit the forum and read everything.

So if any mods are still removing stories you're doing it for the buzz of wielding the power.

As you always were IMO, but at least before you had some kind of a pretext.

Tho since for over a day there's been story at the top of the page with a 13-year-old cheerfully announced in the Introduction, hopefully there's secretly more common sense around than you're trying to suggest (for whatever reason).

The worst thing about it all was always going to be the effect on some of the mods. Are you really so desperate to be a policeman?

And no he is not your boss. You volunteer. As in: willingly. Wake up.

 

Let me clarify one little misstatement you make here. As I have volunteered in more than a few non-profit groups, I know first hand that volunteers do answer to a boss.
In this case it is the site owner: they volunteer their time and service to the site owner, for the benefit of the rest of us.

 

It's no misstatement snowleopard. You might depend on a boss to earn a living, but when you volunteer you do that because you believe in what you're doing.

So if you (mods) don't yourself believe that there should be a blanket 16+ age rule, what are you (mods) doing volunteering to enforce it?

This is the trap. It's tempting. There are other, less worthy motivations that can lure nice people into being something which, when they wake up, they realise they didn't really want to be.

...well, technically yes. The owners can put any restrictions on content they want. But that has always been true. And it seems like a big (weird) jump from pederasts to Hasidics.

So what of the other "extreme" if you wish to call it that - In my tale of the Winter War, it had an alternative ending:

Russia lost their war with Finland.
Hitler was blown to kingdom come.
Stalin was dispensed with.
Germany never invaded Russia.

So should I suddenly have to be concerned about having this story or other alternate-histories (or for that matter ones about my cat-girls or dragons) banished?

Bottom line (again): Site owner makes the rules, moderators enforce them, writers/readers/commentators abide by them or leave.

If you're going to ban one thing because it's wrong ban the rest of it that is too.

You can't do that though because the story site would seize to exist.
