3) avoid cliches. If you've heard it before in other stories, find a different way to tell yours.

4) have good reasons why things are happening. Nothing happens purely by chance. There are always factors that will tie into what is happening.

5) keep writing. practice helps and don't get upset if someone gives you ideas to improve.
