I agree with Rain, I don't have any problem with prostitution, and I think it should be legal. But I wouldn't pay for sex myself, mostly because I can't imagine ever needing to.

Have done it. Did it Saturday night actually. Twice. I was drunk enough that time became an issue. It's not legal in Washoe County (Reno) either. The whole idea was to get prostitutes off the streets in the two big cities, so that they wouldn't scare the nice families. It probably also serves to shore up the economies of the "cow counties".

All my young life I never;

1) needed to go to a prostitute, as I easily got it for free.
2) had the desire to engage in what I saw as a degrading experience for all concerned.

The last point, when I think back, was more due to my perception of such activity.

In King's Cross Australia, Kobukicho Japan and of course Amsterdam's red light district, Hungary etc. all prostitution I had seen, has the same unnatural canned, rushed or shameful feeling.
