Everyone should have 10-14 days of emergency food and water put away for whatever emergency might happen.
You don't have to spend a lot of money on food supplies. You aren't catering a wedding, it simply needs to be life sustainable. Some water put away along with a bag of rice and a bag of beans will get you by.
Oh yeah, don't forget to put away a Costco size bundle of toilet paper too.

 

Also. ... Don't forget to tuck a porn magazine under the mattress in case the power goes out.

I'm not sure what the problem is with advising citizens to be prepared with a store of a few days food n water.
Seems eminantly sensible to me.

We are certainly advised to have at least 4 days emergency supply ready.

All real possibilities for most if not all of the population.
Any event could happen today or tomorrow , or may not in a lifetime.
There are known threats that could create a devastating tsunami that would hit here within twenty miutes , and others within about an hour.
Volcanoes all around , and earthquakes are common.

 

Food, water, warm clothing, batteries, firearms and ammunition ( if the Krauts can own them) is what I would be stocking up on if I had to dig in for a while....

 

Marijuana. DO NOT FORGET THE WEED!

Buy things that will keep well, like spaghetti and pasta, dried milk, Coffee-mate, tea bags and sugar, gravy granuals.
