Twitter is just as bad as XNXX. I realize that people get emotional about politics but wow! Many of the users are really cool, but some have anger issues. I guess I'm guilty of that too. I've been mean to Kathy Griffin. Maybe I should apologize. Nah, fuck that!

Both of you illustrate what wantsomefun was complaining about when he began this thread. Jdbfromnj expressed my motive in responding to it.

I thought the opening comment that wantsomefun posted was interesting in discussing a problem most noticeable with XNXX: insults have no place in an intelligent discussion of controversial stands on important issues.

I was particularly intrigued with the opening comment's explanation of the alt right. The religious right and the tea party have pretty much spent their force. The alt right is the new populist movement that contributes to Republican electoral victories, as did these other two movements previously.

I see the alt right as a movement drawn largely from unintelligent, poorly educated white men who are angry about a computer dominated economy that increasingly rewards intelligence, just as it has less need for white men like them.

Rather than acknowledge the reason for their problems they prefer to direct their anger at non whites, Jews, something called "cultural Marxism" and whites they deem to be "race traitors."

The alt right deserves to be taken seriously. Nevertheless, I believe, and of course hope, that it will fall with the failure of the Trump administration.

 

Anger comes from a more primitive part of the human brain, a part we share with other mammals. During the Paleolithic era, and especially before the emergence of modern humans in Africa about 100,000 years ago the problems our ancestors faced were more dangerous, but also more simple. If they could be solved they could solved by the burst of energy one gets from adrenaline.

In a civilized environment one rarely advances one's interests by acting on anger. If a co worker ridicules your proposal in a business meeting, and you attack him or challenge him to fight you in the parking lot after work, you will be fired; you may be arrested.

It is better to respond calmly to your co-worker's ridicule, by explaining the strengths of your proposal, while acknowledging its weaknesses. That response will gain the respect of your co-workers and boss while it will expose your taunter as a bully.

 

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Fighting over WSF's last old post. Even WSF would have raggled your asses for being rude to each other on something you don't like.

Unfortunately, some posters do not want to be told the truth.

If XNXX prohibited what wantsomefun complained about in the article he posted, this internet forum would attract intelligent, well educated posters. Stupid, poorly educated posters who have nothing to contribute but insults and obscene words would leave.

With their absence XNXX would become more attractive to quality posters.
