Not being an authority on early native American history, I can understand your feeling about possible speculation (as I said, I'm no authority) of their history. Would you happen to know if the native Americans actually kept a written history of their civilizations? If we can only rely on early Europeans accounts, who knows what is the actual truth.

 

If it's only orally passed down from generation to generation we might not be able to take it as gospel. You know... the human penchant to embellish stories each time they are told.

 

Actually, the written accounts by the European invaders supports my claims.
