President Trump said Saturday that he intends to allow the release of long-classified files on the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy, a move that could shed light on a tragedy that has stirred conspiracy theories for decades.



The National Archives has until Oct. 26 to disclose the remaining thousands of never-seen government documents on the 1963 assassination, unless Trump changes course and tries to block their release

 

That pussy won't get far before the President grabs it. He just can't help himself.

 

The president tweeted to say he would allow the release "subject to receipt of further information".

The files are scheduled to be opened by the US National Archives on 26 October, but the president is entitled to extend their classified status.

Kennedy was shot dead by a sniper in November 1963 in Dallas, Texas.

The National Archives has already released most documents related to the assassination, but a final batch remains under lock and key.

"Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened," Trump said in a tweet.

Congress ruled in 1992 that all JFK documents be released within 25 years, unless the president decides the release would harm national security.

 

My x-wife did most of the interviews with the Oswald family. She got to be friends with his mother.
She kept a copy of all of her interviews. It was interesting to read.

 

It won't be the full real file, but it'll slowly start a Pandora's box if every president after Trump releases more info that gets closer to what actually happened.

Everybody needs to sit down, take a deep breath, and prepare themselves for nothing.

 

No matter what we find out it is past the time we should have been told.

heh, it's been said that what's reported within the first 30 minutes of an incident are the most accurate.
After that, the spin occurs.

 

It's also been said that 10 people seeing the same accident at an intersection will give 10 differing accounts of what happened.

 

No not true. Not even close. I can tell you from newspaper reporting and running on an ambulance what is first reported in the first 30 minutes is almost always wrong. In fact when we were on ambulance calls we deliberately discounted what we were being told enroute because it could give us a false impression of the scene. So we would wait until we got to the scene and assessed ourselves. And even with police it was very common to have them telling two or more versions of what happened and it could takes days to finally get it all straightened out.

First notice Trump gave himself an easy out to not follow through on releasing anything. He said unless. someone gives a reason not to release them.

But even if he dose there won't be anything new in them. The government has already made sure of that.

In fact I remember when there was a big push to have all the records released when George HW Bush was president and he was asked about it in a press conference. And he said he wanted to have more released on the assassination and added he had even instructed some of his administration to review the records to see if more of them could be released. And I knew right then that after the JFK movie was coming out what he really meant is they had people inside the CIA scrubbing all records to make sure any incriminating evidence got shredded.

So I don't think we will ever know what Bush was really doing in Dallas the day Kennedy was killed when he was working for the CIA.
