  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

It surely will never end. Ever! Definitely will never go out of style. Rap will change and evolve but not disappear.

What have you got against rap? Or is it rappers you have a problem with?

When I listen to music I like to listen to music. Talking, yelling, and cussing is not what I call music.

True enough, not a fan myself.

Rap is one of four subcultures of hip hop.

That's what I'm afraid of. The fact that it's not music means guys who are not into music can express themselves, and complain about all the injustices that they feel concern them. Even if the only people who are going to listen to it, are the same people who have something in common with them. I suppose some of the words must be cleverly thought out, but it's so far from my taste that I must admit, I haven't the patience to delve into it.

Rap is not meant to be "music" as much as it is poetry ... you are still confusing the issues between hip-hop and rap which is one of four subcultures of the genre.

Tell me this isn't good poetry.

Rap music is ugly and morally depraved. :yuck:

Negroes used to sing about romantic love

    and even unrequited love.

That was when they tried to emulate whites. Now among young Negroes "acting white" is something to avoid.

Well, this is it. I can see this guy is a poet. And you can see his audience really appreciate it. I admit the problem is partially with me. I'm not very sensitive to poetry or prose. Only one or two bits. So what is the difference. I'll no doubt be looking it up on internet. For me hip-hop is acrobatic dancing in the suburbs, which I might say I think is fantastic. If I was young enough I'd love to try it. But, where I live here in Europe, most people would call what I'm talking about rap.

When I owned my recording studio I had a policy that I would never accept rappers as clients because at the time gangsta rap was big and those fuckers are pissed off at life ...

Hip-Hop is a genre (subculture) of the art scene and it has 9 subgroups that make up that category. Hip-Hop is only 4 of those nine and include (rapping, djaying, beatboxing and breaking) ... each of those have their own subgroups.

You aren't wrong. Hip-hop uses Bob Dylan sampling in it's "style".

    Is Bob Dylan Hip-Hop's Godfather?

His ties to Beastie Boys, the Roots and others

After a YouTube clip made the rounds of Bob Dylan raspily rapping his way through a solid chunk of LL Cool J's classic "Mama Said Knock You Out," the Internet had good time with "LOL" and "WTF" responses. But Dylan's symbiotic relationship with hip-hop actually runs fairly deep.

Hip-hop and Dylan were both gestated in New York, distrust the government, aren't fond of using their birth names, and have a pretty evocative way with words. And although Dylan recently told Street Newspaper that he doesn't really listen to rap all that much, he did admit, "I love rhyming for rhyming sake. I think that's an incredible art form."

Let's take a look back at the many times their paths have crossed:

1965: Bob Dylan, "Subterranean Homesick Blues"

1986: Kurtis Blow featuring Bob Dylan, "Street Rock"

1987: Public Enemy, Yo! Bum Rush the Show

    1989: Beastie Boys, "Johnny Ryall"

1992: Beastie Boys, "Finger Lickin' Good"

1997: Wyclef Jean, "Gone 'Til November"

1999: Black Thought, Common, Mos Def, Dice Raw, Flo Brown, the Jazzyfatnastees and the Roots, "Hurricane"

2006: Bob Dylan, "Mama Said Knock You Out"

2008: Evidence featuring Fashawn, "The Far Left"

2009: Bob Dylan featuring Will.i.am, "Forever Young (Continued)"

2009: Kid Cudi, "Highs N Lows"

2009: Juelz Santana featuring YelaWolf, "Mixin' Up The Medicine"

And on and on and on ...
