So Tuesday he took to the Senate floor to audition for a future gig on MSNBC.

The outspoken #NeverTrumper trashed the Republican president and Republican voters.
(And he’s too stupid to know why they reject him!)

Flake is angry because he knows the Republican party has changed.

DNC chair gets Constitution wrong in speech to law students



Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez incorrectly stated "the Electoral College is not a creation of the Constitution" during a Tuesday night speech.

"The Electoral College is not a creation of the Constitution," Perez said during a lectureat Indiana University Law School. "It doesn’t have to be there."

The Electoral College, a mechanism for indirect election of the president created by the Founding Fathers as a compromise between smaller states and larger states, is clearly laid out in Article II of the Constitution: "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress."

 

It doesn't matter what the constitution says, if they yell loud enough and hate Trump many people will believe them.
They will not even take the time to see if it is a lie. Added to that they will yell that he is right because they know there are other idiots just like them that will listen and yell.

After Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona excoriated President Trump on the Senate floor while announcing that he will not be running for re-election in 2018, New York Times columnist David Brooks and syndicated columnist Mark Shields sat down with Judy Woodruff during PBS News Hour and analyzed the growing rift in the Republican party.
The excerpts below are from a post by Ian Schwartz in Real Clear Politics:

David Brooks said Republicans who support Donald Trump have their “priorities messed up.” Brooks said if you believe by supporting Trump you will get your tax bill passed, “you’re putting money above morals.”

DAVID BROOKS NEW YORK TIMES: Well, it (Flake’s Speech) sounded like a call to arms at the moment, but it’s pretty clear it was Appomattox in reality.

What Flake made clear is that you can’t survive a Republican primary if you don’t sound like Donald Trump. And whether with Flake leaving, Corker leaving, McCain sort of in the end — toward the end of his career, the Republicans who want [to] have a political viability have to be Trumpian.

And so what you have is most of the Republicans saying, I may not like this guy privately, I may worry about this guy, but this is my guy, I am going to support him.

And so this was really the week, I thought, something atmospheric shifted and
Donald Trump, and Steve Bannon really took control of the Republican Party…

 

Shooter isn't convinced that Trump wants control of the Republican party.

Shooter is thinking Trump doesn't want to be in control of anything that gets in the way of his golf, his agenda for America, or his family.
