I've seen a rash of "Ask a (farmer, dentist, strip club owner, accountant, drunk dude) Anything" threads on some of the other boards I frequent. I haven't seen too many other military folks floating around here so I thought I would start my own "Ask a..." thread. I just happen to be a deployed Army dude.

Quick back ground information: I have been serving for almost 16 years. I am on my third deployment to the Middle East since the recent unpleasentness started. I have been enlisted and am currently an officer. I have spent time in the National Guard and am currently on Active Duty now. I have been stationed all over the US and in Europe for several years. I can't tell you for sure what life is like on a Navy ship, being a fighter pilot, or a Navy SEAL. I am none of those. I am just an average, normal Soldier who goes about his daily routine trying to not get shot at too much.

DISCLAIMER: If you ask questions regarding National Policy (Should we be in Iraq) I will tow the party line. I will tell you about my personal experiences, but will not speculate on things that are outside my scope of knowledged and I will be frank and honest about it.

I am currently decorating my utility room.

It has, Terracotta floor, walls 1/2 tiled in cream with a Brown glass border tile. White ceiling.

My question is........What colour should I paint the walls between the tiles and the ceiling?

 

Olive drab.

A little. But I joined the Army 6 years prior to 9/11. And I did so because I love my country. My family came to America from Europe where they were dirt poor and have all done relitively well for ourselves. I come from what I would call a middle class family in the Midwest.

Also, nobody in my family had served in the miitary since my grandfather in WWII and I figured since my family owed so much to America, I would pay the debt to Her with service.


So yea, I'm a little bonkers.:rose:

GO ARMY!!! My son was in the 82nd.

 

I was frankly disappointed with that suggestion, I would have thought that a Burnt Orange was a more sensible choice.

Definately an earth tone shade anyway.

I suppose that I forgot to mention it is a North facing wall so maybe I am somewhat to blame also.

 

I have no questions, only admiration and gratitude. My younger brother is in the military fighting along side the Americans in Afghanistan and he has nothing but praise and respect for you guys. Try to stay safe.

 

What's the Army's philosophy on allowing people who had been diagnosed clinical depression to enlist? Is it an automatic refusal, or contingent on how emotionally healthy they appear to be, based on a psychological evaluation and how they're handling it, like if they take antidepressants?
