The people in this caravan are escaping the kind of society people like them create in their home countries. If they are allowed to settle in the United States they will bring with them the social dysfunctions they are escaping from.

 

There is also a crises North of our border, it’s called naivety, and it affects a great number of Southpaws.

 

The people in the caravan are not escaping an unusual crisis caused by a dictator. They are escaping conditions that have existed in Latin American since the Spanish conquests. Under the Indians things were even worse.

 

The governments of Guatemala and Mexico have arrested a combined total of over 100 al Qaeda terrorists out of the caravans.

The US has a very robust immigration program and we accept thousands of asylum seekers every year. We have a process for immigration that does not include an organized assault on our borders.

The crisis south of the border is not our responsibility, in particular when we have our own desperate citizens to help.

A terrorist could have easily slipped in considering the minors, coined Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), were not properly vetted and some turned out to be violent gangbangers who went on to commit heinous crimes in their adopted land of opportunity. In fact, the nation’s most violent street gang, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), was energized by the barrage of UACs. The Texas Department of Public Safety even issued a report documenting how the MS-13 emerged as a top tier gang in the state thanks to the influx of illegal alien gang members that came with the UACs. At the time more than 60,000 UACs—many with criminal histories—had stormed into the U.S. in a matter of months. Tens of thousands more eventually made it north.

As migrant caravan reaches Tijuana, overwhelmed city asks Mexican government for $4 million

Shelters overflowing in the Mexican city as thousands more are expected to arrive in the coming days; William La Jeunesse reports from the scene.

TIJUANA – Tijuana has asked the Mexican federal government for $4 million so the city could accommodate thousands of migrants who part of a caravan that for the past month has been making its way to the border.



Almost 2,000 members of the migrant caravan have already descended on this border city – about 5,000 more are expected to arrive in the coming days.


Tijuana has 700 shelter beds that are already full. So a municipal sports complex has turned into a tent city, with shivering migrants hunkering down in tents and sleeping on cots as they wait to determine their next steps.

About 1,000 migrants are sharing one bathroom.


U.S. border agents patrolled the area in helicopters and ATVs while contractors welded razor-wire to the border fence to make sure no one tries to illegal cross into the U.S.

The request for funds from the government comes as tensions between the migrants and local Mexicans has grown tense. On Wednesday, a fight broke out as Mexicans yelled at the migrants: “Go home. We don’t want you here!” Members of the caravan said local police made no attempt to break up the fight.

 

$4 million...for a temporary stay, imagine that.

 

Imagine what it will cost when they get on this side of the border.

So according to estimates based on what it cost King George (Bush Jr) and Oblather to send troops to the border, it will cost US taxpayers about $100,000 per year for each troop on the border; for 5000 troops, that runs to $500,000,000 (five hundred million dollars).

Looking at various reports, I believe that @Old Tool, (aka Houseboy Extraordinaire) has, in fact, lost this bet on the first factor, to wit:

1) That less than a 1,000 person group will eventually present themselves at the southern border of the US​

While it certainly isn't 7000 of them, most if not all reports I have checked indicate that, in fact, a group of people numbering well over a thousand have presented themselves at the southernmost border of the United States for the purposes of attempting to gain entry.

In so finding, the remainder factors become irrelevant.
