I'm no male feminist that's just absurd, but I truly admire the strength of strong and responsible women over the wilting flowers that are portrayed so often after conscious choices have left them vulnerable. Women recognize and are taught early on the sexual power she possesses of her naked body and whether she chooses to withhold it, share it or manipulate situations through it? Not enough emphasis is placed on the protection of it through the formidable years as the phrase goes, "With great power comes greater responsibility!" In the way of self love, the dangers of self abasement and literally self defense of her body through choices, words and action before the dangers present themselves?

While we (should) inherently teach our young sons to have the capability to defend their actions, words and body from harm, so too should we emphasize this to our daughters as well and I feel more urgently. Along with the social norms required of young ladies is the necessity of a proverbial "right hook" with an honest view of the world that makes them less the victim in the end and more the empowered guardian of their own bodies! Too many times have we heard the stories of women (more than men) who have slept their way to the top, into a controlling interest of a marriage based on manipulation and greed up to and including consciously "teasing" to gain control of people (which is your right.)

But in reality of which almost never ends well and subjects us to the sight of a blubbering, emotional mess devoid of any responsibility for their initial actions they could have avoided had they learned from a well of over publicized public examples. I'm saying that just as I would hold a man to such standards, not higher or lower than a woman "I won't blame you for your mistakes, I only ask that you take responsibility for your part and pay for it accordingly!" Men make mistakes all the time such as the phrase, "I never went to bed with an ugly woman, but I've woken up to a few" of which we feel no sympathy for or is the man in question asking for or expecting. This is true equality!

NOTE: This is not a sweeping indictment of decisions that indirectly led to truly criminal acts of incest, molestation or rape!!

 

I do not fully understand this new thread by @Milo Cronos. What I think he is expressing, or rather, what I understand from his post, is that women have a degree of net sexual power over men. By "net sexual power" (NSP) I mean the excess of physical attraction and sexual arousal of men for women over the same of women for men. And women need more education and training in how to manage that NSP in a social environment in which some men try to compensate for this sexual power deficiency through behaviors that range from sexual harassment to outright rape, and other men acquiesce allowing women to unethically(?) exploit their NSP for personal financial gain.

If that is partly correct, then I think Milo is starting another interesting discussion. If that is not correct, then ... oh well, I tried. In either case, I am liking his post.

There are many reasons one that i voiced my opinion on as to why women lose self worth or another reason is needing money. We can't judge these women. They live their own life how they see fit. And how we raise our kids has shit to do about it all.
