What would happen if one was to start a parallel contest on say, from Feb 1st to Feb 16th for the writing period? Feb 17 to Feb 23rd for the reading and voting period?

The theme could be the 50's and 60's Rock&Roll Era. (The story would not have to talk necessarily about music, as long as it was in that period of time and it made allusion to the Rock&Roll phenomena)

This would allow all the writers shying away from a ridiculously limiting contest, to let their imagination and talent come forth.

You could also write a story about the difficulty of a boy and a girl to entertain a relation in our province, where in history the schools were not mixed. A different gender, a different school system. Boy schools and girl schools were the trend before the 70's in our part of the world, since PR's churches were the real directors of political decisions.

I did not quit the site. I had my stories removed and deleted all my contacts, so I am not related to any member, either as a contact or friend. I decided to be a loner on this site and others.

One question for you BlackRonin : Did you feel good about thinking I was no longer on this site and would you prefer I cancel my membership?

Yes I am writing. But the question whether I am publishing or not is another matter. So far I have not published anything, since I'm writing for my own pleasure and I am not inclined to being put down by some of the critiques that some sites allow to comment on others work.

I am writing new stuff and rewriting some old stuff, before submitting to a qualified proofreader and editor. I will not publish before I am totally satisfied with my texts.

PR, start from scratch and keep it simple. All CAW stories are supposed to follow the forums rules and guidelines anyway so that should be enough to cover you from persecution.

If you want to see the true nature of someone give him/her the power of decision. Give him/her control a situation.

Then you'll see whether he/she controls his/her own life by the way he/she exercise such authority. A meek personality will become arrogant and controlling, while a balanced nature will exercise this control with parsimony and humbly direct the operations with discretion, trying not to overdo restrictions of what can and cannot be done.

The righteous will always come out trying to get people to do what he/she wants them to do, while the liberal will let people free to express their opinion, rather than trying to direct them.
