  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

I suspect he had more interest in the game this evening, England-Israel.

0-0. I was quite happy at half time. We'd kept the ball well, we'd passed it around nicely, we'd made a couple of chances, and Israel had been reduced to chasing the ball and trying to hit us on the break.

Trouble was, we didn't capitalise, they kept closing us down and denying us space and it ended as it had begun. 0-0.

If we don't get half a dozen against Andorra on Wednesday night I'll be drying in my beer.

Oh, and the cricket - we seem to be giving Kenya a tonking, so at least that's good.

Qualifying isn't over yet. There's still time for England to get their act together.

Ah, the myth of Venables as tactical magician and man manager extraordinaire.

As I recall, if Spain had beaten us in Euro 96, as they fully deserved to, we would have gone out in a haze of mediocraty and that would have been the end of him. As it turned out we won the shoot out and went on to hang on in the semi for another shootout where we lost to the Germans having NOT PRACTICED PENALTIES!

Rememer the opener against Switzerland? Then we beat the Scotland team who, let's face it, weren't exactly top class opposition, and a Dutch team that were struggling through another self inflicted period of strife and petty squabbling.

And he didn't ahve to qualify. If he' ahd to qualify it might well have been a different story. All his opposition leading up to the finals was hand picked to allow him to hone the team to a fine cutting edge. And he didn't.

ok so venables may not be as good as you like but i see you have no arguement with bringing back beckham....and as for a possible early replacement for s.mclaren... why not look at mr. ROY KEANE... what a brilliant job he is doing for Sunderland... surely an england manager in the making

I think Mclaren was wrong to so publicly drop Beckham. He can still do a job at that level, although the wide right spot should be Lennon's (who played wide left yesterday to accomodate Gerrard, lampard and Hargreaves! Go figure!). He would be worth having in the squad at the moment, certainly, but in the starting 11? Probably not.

I didn't think Mclaren was a good choice at all. The trouble is that I'm looking round for someone who would
    a) be able to do the job better
    and
    b) would be stupid enough to want to try with the press on their backs the whole time.

    and I'm struggling.

Roy Keane looks like he knows what he's doing but he doesn't need the media attention and, as an Irishman, I don't thnik he'd see a lot to gain by taking it on.

i agree with beckham in middle of midfield not wide... you do not loose that ability to hit long balls with accuracy just because you are not playing every game....
as regards the coach..yes the f.a. shot themselves with the "big phil" fiasco... over here we hear a lot of whispers about a certain L. Mattahaus being available for the right coaching position... who knows just look what klinsmann has done... maybe we can learn something from the germans

We could certainly learn to practice penalties!

I can't believe how many English (and British) coaches say it's just a lottery and their's no point practicing!

If you look back at the teams that have won big games on Pens the common factor is, more often than not, that they practice. the ones that consistently win on Pens practice a lot.

If it's pointless training because you can't recreate the pressure of the moment, why does Tiger Woods spend so much time on the driving Range and the putting Green?

With his reputation, I think that Roy Keane would make Graham Taylor look like a choirboy.
