I live in a country that doesn't have that much the painful recent history of racism that the USA has. For that reason, I was raised think it's not just okay, but also perfectly normal to be attracted to a certain type of man or woman, regardless whether that is the same race as you are or not.

I also learned from one of the books that Barack Obama wrote, that part of the African-American community actively prevent their own emancipation by rejecting mainstream American society, widening the cultual gap with mainstream American culture, and thus keeping a sort of self-segration. There's a very small minority in my country that does the same, rather copying the behavior of that part of African-American society.
