It is the constant method of operation of treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans is to always play the poor poor pitiful me eternally wounded little snowflake victim. And they love to play the persecuted Christian card. But President Biden and the Democrats are wising up to the fact that nonsense can't just be ignored. If those lies are the only narrative out there too many people might believe them. So they have kind of a strike force to strike back now. The push back from the White House and lots of people on the news channels and internet made more noise about the lies than the lies generated. So much they had to be retracted.

Daily Caller Fully Retracts Article Claiming Biden Banned ‘Religious Easter Eggs’ From White House Contest

The Daily Caller on Tuesday retracted an article claiming that the Biden White House banned “religious Easter eggs” from an art contest at the annual Easter Egg Roll over the weekend.

The claim had spread through right-wing media, even though it was quickly and widely debunked by various fact-checkers and anyone familiar with the history of the event.

“The Biden administration banned children from submitting Easter eggs with religious themes for its 2024 ‘Celebrating National Guard Families’ art contest,” read the lede from Julianna Frieman’s now-retracted report in the Caller, a hardright publication co-founded by Tucker Carlson.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) shared the headline over the weekend and wrote, “The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter — which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Banning sacred truth and tradition—while at the same time proclaiming Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day”—is outrageous and abhorrent. The American people are taking note.”

“Following the publication of this article, the Daily Caller became aware of additional context that undercut the central assertion of this article and its newsworthiness,” read Tuesday’s retraction in the Caller, which added:

The ban of religious symbolism on eggs as part of the White House Easter egg art contest has been longstanding, dating back decades, and the Biden administration did not make any modifications to this rule. While the Caller did not explicitly state at any point that the rule was new, this additional context rendered the main thrust of the article misleading to readers, who could reasonably have come to the conclusion that the rule was new.

With that additional context included, the news value of the article was significantly diminished, leading the senior leadership at the Caller to the decision to retract. We sincerely regret the error and are taking the necessary steps to ensure similar mistakes can be avoided in the future.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates responded to the retraction, saying, the publication “did the right thing by retracting this story on the Easter Egg Roll.” President Joe Biden, a devout Catholic, came under a bevy of attacks from right-wing media over the long-standing rules regarding the Easter egg design contest and for issuing a proclamation for International Transgender Day of Visibility, which has been on March 31st for some 15 years now.

Trump is trying to campaign on trying to spread fear, hate, and anger over what he's calling Biden's border bloodbath. And so he is trying to use the victims of crimes committed by migrants to attack President Biden. Now one, President Biden and the Democrats are way ahead of him. They are running ads and putting up billboards ahead of Trump's campaign rallies asking why did Trump kill the border bill?

Its a good strategy but they might not even need them. They can also be asking how low can Trump go? Its bad enough for Trump to try and use victims as political props. But you can't get much lower than lying about them.

'He did not speak with any of us': Slain woman's sister shocked by Trump campaign speech

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday held a campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan to drum up support as the presumptive Republican nominee as the campaign heads into the Nov. 5 presidential election.

As he pinned much of his talking points on the crisis at the Southern Border — calling it “Biden’s border bloodbath” — he also spoke about the untimely death of Ruby Garcia.

“She lit up that room, and I’ve heard that from so many people,” Trump said in Garcia's hometown. “I spoke to some of her family.”

But Garcia’s sister, Mavi Garcia, contradicted Trump, according to local news station Target 8.

“He did not speak with any of us," Mavi Garcia reportedly said, "so it was kind of shocking seeing that he had said that he had spoke with us, and misinforming people on live TV."

Garcia's 25-year-old sister was repeatedly shot and her body discovered off of U.S. 131 in Grand Rapids on March 22 by Michigan State Police officers, the report notes.

Brandon Ortiz-Vite, 25, has reportedly claimed responsibility for Garcia' demise, to whom he is suspected of being romantically tied.

Mavi Garcia told the outlet she felt Trump cared more about Ortiz-Vite's immigration status than her sister's life.

“It’s always been about illegal immigrants,” she reportedly said. “Nobody really speaks about when Americans do heinous crimes, and it’s kind of shocking why he would just bring up illegals. What about Americans who do heinous crimes like that?”

'Abhorrent': Trump shredded for claiming he spoke to murdered woman's family

Former President Donald Trump made migrant crime a centerpiece of his speech with law enforcement in Grand Rapids, Michigan — and particularly the case of Ruby Garcia, a young woman believed to have been murdered by an immigrant.

But aside from getting Garcia's age wrong in his speech, Trump may have lied about speaking to Garcia's family.

While Trump said he had spoke to Garcia's family, her sister told a local news outlet, “He did not speak with any of us, so it was kind of shocking seeing that he had said that he had spoke with us."

Commenters on social media called it a new low for the former president.

"Trump has done more abhorrent things than I can count, but this is one of the most despicable," wrote USA TODAY columnist Rex Huppke on X. "He lied about talking to the family of a murder victim, p---ing them off with his anti-immigrant rhetoric."

"Trump lied about meeting with the family of a slain woman," wrote former Chicago Tribune editor Mark Jacob. "Because he’s a liar who exploits human misery. And the people who support him are partners in his despicable conduct."

"Trump doesn’t care about the people he uses for his demagogic rants," wrote political commentator and Minnesota State House candidate Will Stancil. "They’re completely disposable. He just needs fuel to fire up his hate mobs, so he can stay the center of attention."

"Who is surprised that he would use crime victims as props — and lie about them to boot?!" wrote filmmaker Melissa Jo Peltier.

"I'm old enough to remember Howard Dean making a weird noise in a [post]-primary speech and it ending his career as an elected official," wrote the account "DoomerVonDoomington." "This a------ is in the running for Worst Human Ever and Republicans swear he's like Reagan and Jesus had a baby."

Even by Trump standards this is a new low low. Trump trying to use the tragic death of a young woman as a cheap political prop but tally lying about her and meeting with her family. This is just fucking sick.

Trump's statement on murder victim Ruby Garcia cribbed words from N.Y. Post obit: report

Former President Donald Trump reused words offered in a murder victim's obituary while claiming to have spoken to her family while paying tribute to her.

Fox 17 reported that Trump used Ruby Garcia's murder as the backdrop for his Tuesday attack on President Joe Biden, accusing him of a "bloodbath" on the U.S. border.

Garcia's sister said Trump had not spoken with the family before the event. Trump, however, claimed to know the victim's family in his Michigan speech.

"Ruby's loved ones and community are left grieving for this incredible young woman," Trump said Tuesday. "They said she had just this most contagious laughter and when she walked into a room, she lit up that room — and I've heard that from so many people. I spoke to some of her family."

Trump's words echoed a statement made in Garcia's obituary, Media Matters' Matthew Gertz observed.

Donald Trump said he learned about murder victim Ruby Garcia's "contagious laughter and when she walked into a room, she lit up that room" from her family. The family denies speaking to him, and that language appears in her obituary as reported in Trump's beloved New York Post.

Fact check: Trump falsely claims that appeals court said ‘you won’ the civil fraud case he lost

Former President leaving the page." data-wf-tooltip-position="bottom" data-wf-reset-every="90">Donald Trump continues to make false claims about the New York civil fraud case he lost – including a wildly inaccurate declaration on Tuesday that an appeals court previously said that he had “won the case.”

Trump has made similar claims for months. He delivered an especially unequivocal version at a Tuesday campaign rally in Wisconsin, the day after he posted a $175 million bond to prevent New York Attorney General Letitia James from beginning to collect on Judge Arthur Engoron’s $454 million judgment against him.

Trump said: “The Appellate Division actually gave me the case. I won the case, because I won it in the Appellate Division. …I won the case because it’s called statute of limitations. The Appellate Division ruled in my favor. That means most of the case is gone; the judge refused to honor it. Now, he – nobody ever heard of that before. So the Appellate Division said, ‘You won the case, that’s it,’ and the judge said, ‘I don’t accept it.’ He’s called a rogue judge. He’s a rogue judge; he’s a fake judge.”

Facts First: Trump’s assertion is false. The appeals court never said he won the case. While its June 2023 ruling did exclude the former president’s daughter Ivanka Trump as a defendant in the case, it did not dismiss the attorney general’s claims against Trump himself, his adult sons or his company. Rather, the ruling set a precise cutoff for claims in the case, saying that claims against Trump and the other defendants were too old if they concerned transactions that were “completed” before certain dates; the court set the cutoff date at July 13, 2014, for any defendants Engoron decided were covered by an agreement signed in 2021 by a top lawyer at Trump’s company. Engoron then ruled that Trump and all of the other remaining defendants were indeed covered by this agreement, that they submitted fraudulent financial statements more recently than July 13, 2014, and that they were therefore liable for civil fraud.

Trump is entitled to argue that Engoron wrongly applied the appeals court’s language about the statute of limitations; he has filed an appeal of Engoron’s judgment, and it’s always possible he will win. But the appeals court’s 2023 ruling simply did not say what he keeps saying it did.

What Engoron actually said about the appeals court ruling

Trump’s assertion that the appeals court said, “You won the case, that’s it,” and Engoron said, “I don’t accept it” creates an impression of a judge who refuse to heed the open-and-shut words of a higher court. But that’s not at all what happened.

Rather, Engoron was tasked with interpreting what the appeals court meant when it barred any claims concerning transactions that were “completed” before July 13, 2014, for defendants covered by the “tolling agreement” signed in 2021 by Trump Organization chief legal officer Alan Garten. (A tolling agreement temporarily pauses the statute of limitations so the parties can try to work out a settlement. The cutoff date would’ve been February 6, 2016, for any defendants Engoron decided weren’t covered by the agreement.)

Trump’s lawyers argued to Engoron that transactions should be considered “completed” when loan agreements were entered into and the money was disbursed, even if financial statements were later sent to the lenders as required by the loan deals. But Engoron rejected that argument in the September 2023 ruling in which he found Trump liablewriting, “Obviously, the transactions were not ‘completed’ while the defendants were still obligated to, and did, annually submit current SFCs [Statements of Financial Condition] to comply with the terms of the loan agreements.”

James’ office, Engoron wrote, “is not challenging the loans, the closings, or the disbursements; it is challenging defendants’ submissions of financial documents containing false and misleading information. Thus, any SFC that was submitted after July 13, 2014, falls within the applicable statute of limitations.” He wrote that “each submission of an SFC after July 13, 2014, constituted a separate fraudulent act.”

Engoron addressed the matter again on the second day of the trial in October 2023. He said: “The general rule is that a claim accrues when someone can sue on it. Here, the attorney general is suing over the use of false financial statements in business, not over the underlying deals themselves. Obviously, she could not have sued on those statements until defendants issued them. Every use of a false financial statement in business starts the statute of limitations running, again, no matter when the transaction out of which [it] arose, closed.”

Trump’s false assertions about the appeals court ruling have been corrected before, both by the media and by Engoron himself.

After Trump wrongly claimed to reporters, following the first day of the trial, that “about 80% of the case is over” because of the appeals court ruling, Engoron said in court the next day: “This case arrived at the App. Div., as we call it, with seven causes of action. It left with seven causes of action. It arrived with 16 defendants. It left with 15 defendants. It arrived at the Appellate Division with a six-year statute of limitations. It left with a six-year statute of limitations, extended by both Covid tolling, and a tolling agreement. I understand that the defendants strongly disagree with this, and will appeal, in part, on this ground.”

Trump is actually doing President Biden and the Democrats a big favor here. The lie that Democrats want abortions after birth is so stupid, ignorant, and outrageous it has to be addressed and helps discredit the entire treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican anti abortion crusade.

Trump lied during his big abortion announcement and said Democrats want to be able to execute babies

    • Former President Donald Trump lied about Democrats' view on abortions.

    • Trump echoed his past claim that Democrats supported babies being "executed after birth."

    • President leaving the page." data-wf-tooltip-position="bottom" data-wf-reset-every="90">Joe Biden slammed him as being the most responsible for the Supreme Court overturning Roe.
Former President Donald Trump lied on Monday and said that Democrats wanted babies "executed after birth," in a video that was supposed to unveil his views on the politically fraught issue of abortion.

"They support abortion up to and even beyond the ninth month," Trump said in a video posted on Truth Social. "The concept of having an abortion in the later months, and even execution after birth. That's exactly what it is — the baby is born, and the baby is executed after birth."

Trump's claim was part of an announcement that sought to finally establish his views on abortion amid a series of sometimes contradictory statements. He declined to support a nationwide abortion ban. The former president said that whatever individual states determined "must be the law of the land" but did not establish an explicit position on abortion-rights ballot initiatives pending in states throughout the country.

As he has in the past, Trump argued that since Democrats articulate few limits they want to place on abortion, it means they want to allow abortions up until the point of birth or even after that. This "infanticide" argument has been part of the abortion debate for years.

The fact is that abortions beyond 21 weeks are rare, as multiple outlets and fact-checkers have confirmed. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data from before the Supreme Court gutted Roe v. Wade, less than 1% of abortions were performed at 21 weeks or later in gestation. Doctors have said such abortions are performed for medical emergencies only.

The Biden White House has backed the Women's Health Protection Act, which, as Business Insider previously reported, did not allow for post-birth termination. The bill did allow for later abortions for "health" reasons, which anti-abortion groups have argued is too vague of a position and could allow for abortions for psychological or emotional reasons.

President Joe Biden, in a statement released by his campaign, said that Trump "more than anyone in America" was most responsible for the uncertainty around nationwide abortion rights following the Supreme Court's decision.

"Trump is scrambling," Biden said in a statement. "He's worried that since he's the one responsible for overturning Roe the voters will hold him accountable in 2024."

In his video statement, Trump expressed pride in his role of appointing three conservative Supreme Court justices who helped provide the majority that overturned Roe.
