    The course they race is complex with maneuvers and I doubt I'd make it through the first series of turns, much less battle other drones for position. The course they are running is at the Miami Dolphins stadium and includes both field to ceiling and the concourse areas. They fly fast as bats outta hell...

    It is doomed to failure since Vince McMahon (WWE) stuck his fingers into it. :rolleyes:

    We are one of the sponsors of it and this season it is actually called Allianz World Series Championships and with all racers using the same rides just like in NASCAR, the advantage goes to the young guy with the quick reaction times and is the only reason I don't compete in it (I'm old and broken lol). Season 2 promises to be pretty cool after the first season learning curve and it is picking up viewers quickly now that ESPN is on board.

    Now I have the bug to take one of mine out for a spin. I have different models of both drones and RC's depending on where I go and the video you can get from them is sic. Sometimes it is easier to use a handgrip RC and you can wave it around as if you are outlining the trajectory like a race car driver does when he is picturing the race track course in his mind ...

    Pretty sure it was in Paris
    (included flying through an underpass)
    Thought it was just a video game at first.
    Couldn't see much potential as spectator entertainment ,
    though I'm sure it's great fun for participants.
    I see very little appeal watching little electronic flies wizzing amongst a myriad of obstacles in a confusion of unobservable maneuvers.

    They are hard to miss and if you follow the feed on the big screens you get that in flight feeling and they are well lit as well, but ya in a stadium you want to be a bit further back to get a panoramic view or good neck muscles, it is like watching a tennis match on fast forward.

    The crashes are cool. I'm really good at that part lol. :rolleyes::D

    Plus it is mostly geeks that don't get out much that go to these events ... :eek:;)

    It is gaining a huge audience quickly though but like you say it is not for everyone but those of us that know how to pilot them and build them, it is cool.

      Watching on TV is great...not really designed to watch as spectator in venue as the drones fly a course throughout the venue...in Miami anyway. Watching the passing moves and sheer ease these guys maneuver throughout the course is impressive. Weaponized, these drones and their pilots could wreak havoc in an urban setting.

    They can easily run into the thousands for something of consequence, and for something for entertainment, and

    Took her out for a run in heavy water, and circumstances led me to suffer a few injuries, along with damage to my boat. She's being lifted out, and I'll be having her back at home to start working on her again by the end of the summer. I'm still going to rehab to get me back on my feet. It's going to be a while before I'll be in any kind of shape to climb around on, and inside her doing repairs, and finishing her refit.
