Yeah, pretty much, there are a lot of denominations of christianity where you cannot be gay (or bisexual) if you are a member, my friend had to leave his religion because he came out of the closet, It's one thing I will never be able to get my head around with organised religion, something that is a natural thing to happen is shunned to the point of "turning people away from god" just because of who they'd prefer to find in their bedroom.
